all FADC does is remove the remaining active frames and recovery frames after. so total frames saved = start up of any move + 1 active frame (or whatever active frame you want to FADC on) + 1 FADC frame (because you cant instantly dash) + dash frames. then take the frame advantage of that same move and add the number of recovery frames and the remaining active frames you skipped. take this number and subtract the first number to find the frame advantage.
IIRC in the old wiki it said that any FADC move took at least 4frames before the dashing starts so this way SRK fadc from ryu is -1: 18f dash, 20f blockstun and finally all dashes are 1 frame faster after a focus so the math is: 20 - 17- 4 = -1
vega´s dash is 20f, last hit of RCF hitstun is 27
27 - 19 - 4 = +4
Where you find the info for Hitstun? Or did you just add frame advantage to recovery and active frames?

the old wiki has the hitstun and blockstun, a pain to find it i must say
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Vega_(SFIV)
the frame data has a column named hitstun and blockstun right after the advantage on hit
I’ve been wondering, does Vega have any setups after an EX FBA knockdown that cause shoto reversals to whiff?

Thanks a lot.
how the fuck did i never know this existed
Sorry. I used to contribute alot more a few years back. I posted my video in this thread a while back.

Oh no, it’s not your fault.
I just complained to myself about having to be careful of wakeup DP’s but I didn’t know a solution as simple as this existed.
I won’t say this setup is simple.
In fact it looks as hard as Brokken G’s cross-up setup. You have to dash forward, then walk back during a precise amount of frames, then jHP. If you’re any late, you will eat the DP, and too early it will whiff.
Not that reliable IMO. Personnaly, I would prefer Neth’s setup (izuna, dash forward, neutral jump and njMK) instead, which seems safer to me. =)
Dude, that is pretty sick. Been trying it out in TM and it’s really easy when you get the rhythm for it.
Thanks <3
alex is getting recognition for the things everyone ignored from him for the last 3-4 years lol
where did this alex guy come from all the sudden? Guy’s bad ass!
I have seen this video and I’ve been using it vs ryu ever since. Very practical.
Hey! I always took heed in the things that Alex posted, else I probably wouldn’t use half the setups that I do.
He’s just greatly underrated.
Thanks guys.
I may or may not be on the verge an unblockable BHC setup. Just need to work out some things and hopefully I can get it working consistently. I’ll let you guys know if I get it working.
Kamisama, that is awesome.
And I may or may not be on the verge to ask you how is it going.
Consider yourself warned, Rizhall. ˇoˇ
I’ve never seen a move from Vega that can’t be blocked either way - what did you see? There’s a small but always-present crossup potential from the first hit of BHC when you are at point-blank and ready to hit meaty - on a few characters such as Rufus even a backdash can be caught by the return shot. The second hit has a meaty-crossup ability too (try after a forwardthrow) and seems like it might be more suitable for an unblockable, but the ultra flash telegraphs it and this “second” hit can always be safely backdashed.
Remember that a few characters take slightly longer or shorter to rise off the ground, so you have to re-time the setup for them (both their quick vs hard knockdown timings can vary relative to the rest of the cast)
On very rare occasions when I misstime the BHC too early, the return shot AGAIN crosses up the opponent because of the hitbox barely knicking the back of their head (sometimes ONLY when they block straight back).

i figured not many people saw this on the video’s thread, i guess it’s more appropriate to post it on this thread so more people can check it out. there’s a transcript on makoto’s site (end of the video) on all this tech, but my computer can’t read it, so i hope someone can translate it
