Eri has some pretty devious ass shit. The fact that her j.bc floats her if she does it close to the ground is kind of bullshit. She can delay the hits too.

So, she can very early j.b land throw/2b or very early j.b very late j.c and even if you do it right before you land she will just float in the air and j.c. Landing won’t cut the j.c short, it just always comes out. Or she can just do super deep j.bc and it will come out anyway.

It seems like the j.bc changes her trajectory so she can also do an instant while-rising j.bc and it will give her like a short-hop arc, and she can cover the landing with assist (like instant j.bc Eko 6D 2B).

Her 214s are tricky but they have their flaws and can be countered. Same with her 236 overheads/sweep. But she doesn’t even need to rely on that stuff when she has so many other things going for her.

Well for the flickering, you might have to turn off the windows vista desktop sidebar thing, that can cause flickering over on the side. I don’t know about the bleeding though, sorry.

Man I can’t get this game to run correctly at all now. I know I worked at least once before, I was even able to use my stick with it. But now I start it up and the only direction it seems to recognie is up-left. I even tried it with just keyboard and I end up with weird writing on the screen when I actually get it into a match. I’n not sure what changed.

I thought it might have been and 1.01 vs 1.02 issue but I salvaged 1.01 form the recycle bin and it had the same problem. Any ideas?

Well you can try deleting the game.ini and replacing it with the pristine_game.ini that comes with the lunaport download. Then reset your buttons in the game options menu. If that doesn’t work you can try making sure your windows locale is set to Japanese. And if you still can’t get it to run then I dunno.

It no longer seems to be giving me that option at least.

Try another browser (like opera), CTRL+F5 or clean your cache.

Eri is one character I haven’t played around with much. I suppose her being the ‘easy’ combo character turned me off (I usually love tonfas).

She does still seem retarded good though. I think her and Yui are the next contenders for the nerf bat.

Also, I love being able to add that tiny bit more damage to Rozarion buster. XD Finally Natalia’s pot buster reigns supreme since it now has the potential to do more damage than Lilith’s.

I was finally able to find a way to get VanPri working again.

Turns out that I had to just leave the default folder like it is (vanpri100, vanpri101, vanpri103b, etc.) and it works just fine. Putting it in another folder, or renaming the folder, would cause the game to stop working. The fact that I have the game installed on the root of my external hard drive might have something to do with it, too.

It showed for me after I disabled adblock temporarily, so if you’re on FireFox you might want to give that a try.

I tried to use Eri’s while-rising jBC with assist as some kind of pseudo IAD pressure, but while-rising jB didn’t seem to hit crouchers and when it whiffed, Eri flew over the opponent’s head with a floaty normal jump. :cool:

Landing jBC and the very early jB + very late jC are interesting though.

I believe there is fuzzyguard in this game, so you can at least force them into a standing position from another jump-in or any of her overheads.

So it seems with 1.03b I can start it without a joystick connected and it’ll respond to the keyboard, though a little slow. Then as soon as I connect a Joytick it just registers down unless I’m pressing up left. I’ve tried teo Joysticks and both have this issue. II start it with a joystick connected it just gets stuck at the title screen and won’t accept button presses.

What they heck this game worked for me like 2 weeks ago!

Just got introduced to this game not too long ago, and it’s surprisingly good. Having a working netplay so quickly is a plus too.

EDIT 2: By the way, it seems that Japan is preparing the first big VP event, Astral Impact on November… tourney, freeplay and cosplay!.

Just downloaded the games + Lunaport, the game certainly has a nice style.
The biggest problem I have so far is that the controls (I have to play with a keyboard) are either erronous or a bit too strict, I can’t decide yet what it is it.

I also wanted to test with a friend this weekend, but can’t get Lunaport to work. How exactly is it supposed to work anyways? I have it in the same direction as the game.exe but when I try to connect to Lunaport nothing happens.

Yea I need someone to test this game’s netplay with. The controls are alright on my ps3 pad via JoytoKey. There aren’t too strict but maybe that is because I am on a pad.

I don’t know how Lunaport works though.

Lunaport is almost like caster. You run Lunaport, then either host a game or join someone’s game. When you have connection with the other player, lunaport ask you to input a delay value. After you type in a number lunaport goes into the game itself and the other player would show up in the VS char selection screen.

The host needs to have his port forwarded though if there is a firewall blocking the connection.

Someone needs to hire this guy asap. To have this kind of spritework, done alone in 3 years is mindblowing.
Especially the tech he used should be of great interest to anyone.

It’s worthwhile to note that a lot of the animations are recycled (very cleverly mind you) Natalia is a good example of this.

This would explain why he would have less work to do on some characters. Still, the animations are really a pleasure to watch, and the consistency in the more detailed characters is just fantastic for the work of one person.
