Ok, so I decided to grab this game, but trying to configure inputs…
is there any way to get this to work with the 360 SE FightStick? Because I have yet to figure out how to make it work. When I go to Option>Joystick, directional inputs are grayed out.
I use JoytoKey to play with my ps3 pad. I actually think JoytoKey should be mentioned on the main page. You probably know what it is. But mapped joytoKey to some keys on your keyboard. Then go to your keyboard configuration of game and press your joystick keys and directions for Vanguard keyboard options.
But you have to uncheck the box under Joystick under the Option to Game menu. I had a huge problem with that.
Also practice mode is the top right key of player Two and the top right key of player One.
I had considered that, but I was wanting to use the in-game settings for joysticks if possible. Apparently not, I’ve tried most everything to do it.
The weird thing is, I can get the buttons on my stick to work fine through the joystick config screen. It’s the actual stick part that’s the problem (directions are grayed out, but it will map button inputs if I click them, and it did read my button inputs on my joystick). So maybe I only need joy2key to handle directions?
Or I could just use it to handle all inputs and not mess with it. Either way, it’ll work. Thanks
EDIT: It’s not working. I can’t get directions to work even still.
Ya, ive had config issues with this game also. Its the weirdest thing too. When i go to options>game nothing comes up. Also when i start the game i can make 1 single input, then the game locks the controls. I can press up, down, or select arcade mode, but then nothing works. but the weird part is that when i arcade mode EVERYTHING WORKS. All directions and buttons respond normally. But once i go back to the title screen, its locks back up after 1 input. I can go to options>joystick and modify the buttons(though the directions are grey’d out). But i dont see why it matter cuz the game is reading my stick just fine once im in arcade mode. Ive never had so many problems with any fighter. Any advice?
(also, Ive tried the old version and the newer one)
Wow this is a really cool game, and the first ‘doujin’ game I tried. It seems pretty generous in terms of execution of specials and supers and is real fun. Takes a little while to get the hang of using the assist characters, and probably a lot longer to get really good at using them to set up large combos.
Liliith is real cool, I usually shy away from grapplers because I really dislike slow giant characters, but she is small and pretty fast.
You know, what really helped me when configuring J2K was testing it in Notepad first since directions and buttons could be seen working there, and then transferring those letters or numbers over to VP. Also, I realized I was exiting the J2K program instead of just minimizing it at one point. >_>’ Maybe I’m an idiot, but I got it working! You can, too.
Remember, you want VP to think you’re using the keyboard for inputs, so keep joystick unchecked and change the keys under the keyboard configuration.
For all those having problems with setting the buttons, you could try using the POV switch option on the other tab in J2K. My converter for whatever reason only reads POV, so I did that and it worked like a charm.
The jp wiki listed a couple more changes for 1.03, but I really can’t read moonspeak.
They mentioned something about pressing right and left at the same time, then they have another change for Kanae’s manhole…I kinda get the rest of the changes.
