WAIT A MINUTE?? Where is this 2nd worst character in the game bull coming from? The tiers changed again recently? Last week I looked at a present tier lis and he was like 4th worst…what the hell happened?
well i try to explain my reasons for saying things. i’m not sure if i elaborated fully in the guide. i talk to the japanese players on GGPO, many of which are top placers from last DCC and get around 3-4 opinions before i decide which one is closest or balanced.
jedah has a hard time in many of his matchups. i would say the only comfortable matches he has are anakaris, bishamon, and aulbath. against anakaris, i would say 7-3, 8-2 at worst. he can really make a mummy punching bag out of him. bishamon would be either 6-4 in jedah’s favor, or 5-5 even. the main reason why jedah could have a slight advantage over bishamon is because his crouch hitbox, and hitbox in general is big and most of jedah’s shinanigans hit him. aulbath matchup would be 5-5. it’s pretty much stalemated until someone gets good momentum going.
also i don’t base my opinions on american gameplay by any means. so if you log on ggpo and watch two average players playing, and are wondering why one is winning so much with a terrible matchup, well, you see where i’m going…
i base my matchups off of what tools i am told that are used in matchups for each character, and then taking into consideration of how some of the best players do against each other when playing a matchup and why they won and lost. most of the time though, it’s pretty much a theory when a character has an advantage, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will happen every time. a 6-4 matchup isn’t so bad, and imo can go either way still.
as far as jedah being 2nd to worst now…i’ve been trying to ask around and discuss why. i was told mainly because he is easy to mix up as a tall target, low damage output unless you swarm them with mixups (which is very situational and hard to come around), and he pretty much is limited if people know how to play against him. people are entitled to their opinion though, if mine isn’t preferred then that’s completely fine. i just want to give an idea to players who want to learn, from my way of looking at things. and i think it’s safe to say that i know what i’m talking about.
Okay thta bout’ sums it up. I agree with it all. He can’t really dish out damage easily. Maybe he deserves to be lower. Honestly, I’ve always thought at least Lilith was a better character than him out of the low tiers. I actually wondered a few pages back why she wasn’t higher.
So what tier is Lilith in now? I don’t play Lilith, but I know she has some deadly stuff behind her.
aulbath moved up in the tier list as well, and demitri has moved lower. i think the tier list now looks somewhat like this from what i have been told

some japanese players think q-bee is better than sasquatch. their reason is because of the honey ball into the cocoon 50/50 loop. also about her defensive float game giving her opportunities to kill and gain momentum. and of course her normal rushdown and crouch avoiding everything.
i didn’t ask about leilei moving up, but i take it that it’s game over nowadays when she gets you in the corner. it’s not so hard to do with her specials and poke zoning. but i do think it takes tremendous work to come out on top with leilei, so personally, i would put her lower. in videos i see them execute close to perfect, which i can see why she’s a big threat now.
i can see why lilith is up there. first off her illusion does way more damage than morrigan’s. she can land it off of c.lp c.lk very easily. she is still very low tier though. even so, i like her mobility over being able to go high/low like with morrigan. i think morrigan’s high/low game isn’t as much as a threat as it should be. morrigan has more options, but lilith has to land her options less time to do as much damage. so it evens out enough to me.
i always thought victor was underrated. i think he’s where he should be. his normals eat fireballs, i think he’s great against morrigan and demitri. i think he locks down very well and can control space. he does have a reliable anti air which i think wouldn’t be hard at all to use offline with good reflexes.
the only reason i can see gallon is where he’s at, any not any higher is because of his stamina. landing a combo on him hurts a lot and with the momentum going, i think he can be in trouble in a lot of situations, even from low tiers.
now…for a tier list in america (our level of play)…i would say it looks something like this. btw this is to be fair, since realistically this is the level we’re playing at and this is what we’re gonna have to deal with, for the time being until we improve and take it to the next level.

i don’t really need to explain the 2nd tier list, this is just how it looks from our level of play. noone can do the insane tenraiha(heaven spikes) lei lei spikes so yeah, she’s pretty bad here.
my reason for even posting the 2nd one is because i didn’t want people to think i’m favoring that my main character is lower tiered or whatever. for now, the 1st list what characters CAN do, and the 2nd list is what they do around here. just wanted to clear that up.
Hold on there cowboy. Bish can wakeup throw, no five frames. It’s been tested and said and done before (on me :sad:)
I do agree with Aulbath vs Felicia. Fel can jump for free on Aulbath practically because he has no reliable anti-airs (s.fierce looks worth it, but I think it trades with everything that Fel has or beats it, I’d have to test) She can easily jump out of dash pressure or mash c.lk and her normals come out quicker and beat out Aulbath’s. I do agree that Aulbath’s matchup isn’t lopsided, but it’s kind of a tough one for the fish man. I’d say it’s 6-4 Felicia’s favor.

bishamon, q-bee and victor are an exception to the 5 frame rule(don’t ask why).
aulbath doesn’t need an anti air. he dashes under all of felicia’s jumps. felicia jumping won’t get her anywhere, as she can’t hit him during a jump. watch a good recent aulbath vs felicia match.

Correction on the wake up throw stuff. Straight from vampiresavior.com
Every character has a 5 frame throw invincibility on wake up(neutral and rolled). A common trait in Capcom fighters.
If you roll wake up you will not be able to perform a throw for 5 frames. In other words you can’t reversal throw after rolling. Exceptions are Victor and Sas’s command throws and all EX throws.
If you neutral wake up, you can reversal throw and grab them.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly are you referring to here? I assume you’re not just talking about doing the supers or comboing into the input one.
Also, if anyone has some tips on Bulleta that’d be appreciated. I want to play her, but I have a hard time doing much with her; she doesn’t feel nearly as natural to me as Q-Bee, Lei Lei, Victor, Sasquatch, etc.
Of Course Martin, not a problem! You’ve been the most proactive in learning VS and you have a lot of great instincts. If you keep playing, there’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll be beastly in no time. Keep up the good work.

Yo, check it. I come home from running errands and I smell goodness + fresco in the kitchen and was thinking, “damn time to grub!”. I get my plate, grab a drink, take it to my room, log onto GGPO, and then Korey asks me to get into the VS room for a tour.
So, Mag had problems with Bracket Maker to host and Korey had to watch the new Pokemon, so I figured I could host it! =) I mean I’m new to this game, roll in a caprice, and “Liek Mudkipz”. . . So this made me the perfect candidate, right??? 
Well, I’ve got to say this tour tonight had so much flavor that I might just use it on the next slab of ribs I BBQ. We had lag, connection issues, dropouts, Fuzzy_Snugs rising from the grave of losers bracket back to winners, and the fan favorite; COIN TOSSES!!! Woooooooooooo
