One question:
Is the GGPO VS much slower than the VS seen in japanese match videos cause it seems so to me… and that sucks D:
no it shouldn’t be…it’s already set to turbo 3 which is what the japanese use.
Now this vid is old as hell but I refer to it seeing as it’s a long video to Jedah gameplay, and I was bored. But I noticed something weird and surprising watching it this time…now look closely around 9:10-9:32.
@ 9:28 while rushing opponent down…this little weird slide thingy happens and he cr.shorts him from the other side after landing. What the hell is that, and is it common or am I just tripping? because it’s new to me.
edit: nevermind, the tech hit made him go in reverse. Had to watch it 3 times to get what happened.
What happened was he Tech Hitted the jHK which crossed over, so since he was already on the other side, the momentum just crossed over and rather than pushing away he got pushed in.
It happens here too (@ :30-:31 seconds) ->
this is good shit, now i have another zabel player to watch besides T2ya and CAA…those guys and Sako are tops IMO
this game and me seriously don’t get along. the more i discover the less i like about this game.
so what’s the secret to making all these combos end in low strong xx purse? i can never get that 2 in 1 to work.
i’m curious as to what you don’t like about VS…Do you find the learning curve too steep?
Ouch…Well no worries, I don’t need someone to tell me I suck
ANYWAYS… I’m guessing you’re timing it just a tad too slow or you’re using the wrong strength of button. Perhaps it’s a link? GAH WHO KNOWS? NOT THE AULBATH PLAYER!!!
I can see why people don’t play this game and it’s not because it’s a bad game. There are soooo many facets to this game and a lot of them are fairly complex. It’s really a test of your knowledge of fighters and it can help you get better at other ones or even develop your chops for fighters.I would STRONGLY encourage you to keep playing. I’m still trying to get better and even changing the way I play now to minimize on mistakes and bring my game up to the next level. So please don’t quit, we want you here!
play xvsf instead son. =]
I’m playing bulleta and I’m trying to c.jab c.jab c.strong xx purse, cause c.jab c.jab c.strong c.roundhouse doesn’t combo.
I hate how this game just boils down to retarded high/low/throw loops. It seems throwing projectiles and out spacing your opponent is not a viable strategy because of a ridiculous air guard system. chicken guard + mad air mobility + very poor anti airs = stupid game.
I hate how the tech hit/pushblock system requires so much more work than is necessary. I don’t have the means to do it on pad, and I don’t want to spend the effort to learn it. It’s needlessly difficult.
I mean every game has the high/low/throw mixup in it somewhere, but most games have a huge game that functions around it, where mixup/reset loop is just a piece, as opposed to the whole point.
I want to actually win by not doing the high low mixup. I want my cable, or my dhalsim or my sentinel or my guile or my honda or my vega.
the spacing tools given to the characters are shit compared to the solution tools to solve them. even if I manage to keep you out, which is basically impossible since most characters have ridiculous mobility, I can’t even get any damage out of it, cause all you have to do is empty jump and block projectiles, then if you see me try and defend and go air to air it’s still a stupid game between air grabs and chicken guard and air chains.
I just played skisonic, and he won every time with some QBee air chain that I couldn’t jump back to air block out of, into some ground chain. and he just alternated the two to kill me every time. It was too fast for me to block 100% and too powerful for me to jump out of and escape.
wow, what an awesome game.
why don’t you play ST.
You should ask B-IzM about any questions for BB Hood - he’s the hotness with her.
Also, most of your problems are things that only suck if you can’t tech block. If you tell me your pad setup, I can probably tell you how to do a good tech block, as I use pad exclusively and get 1-hit techs pretty often.
it’s a ps1 pad
Is c.jab, +c.strong more lenient than c.strong, c.strong(which I know is 2 frame)?
when i try linking for basket finish, I do c.lk->c.strong, c.strongXXbasket
anyone know’ve a reliable ps->usb converter? I have the radioshack one, and it is quite frankly, ass
does c.jab chain into c.strong chain or link? cause according to what the wiki says magic series combos can’t be cancelled.
did you get the polling rate fix?
You haven’t even played some of the campy players yet. Although I believe it’s even harder to be defensive than offensive in this game. Characters like Zabel, Q-Bee, and Sasquatch are all over 3 different hitboxes of your person before you could even move your fingers to jump. lolol:rofl:
ninja edit: Also Vampire teaches you to not be in those situations anyhow. You don’t want to be in front of characters with IAD. They have several options to mix you up that’s why you try to keep the game less frantic and not be in their range.
GB- Try to find a Pelican converter they are hot fire.
Khiempossible- You have to link your normals not chain into them in order to cancel into special moves. The only Exception is if a character has some type of raging demon command. Talbain, Hsien, Demitri, Morrigan, Lilith, and Anakaris can cancel out of a chain state. Any other character has to link into Special moves.
You should try double tapping your normals as well. This techinique is used by alot of players so that they can hit those links with more consistency.
Any tips for playing as Jedah?
the way I interpreted your combo, it has to link from c.jab to c.strong, for the c.strong to be cancelable(which i’m pretty sure works).
archetype just enlightened me with this link.
also, demitri/victor/zabel? most likely characters that come close to controlling space in the manner you want, I believe
ya, people keep telling me to play demitri, but this definitely turns me off:
I’m trying to bite the bullet and implement intelligent rushing into my game.
the only problem is that i need to use missiles to maintain pressure, but punch missiels get punished by duckers (at the very least QB does it very effectively) and kick ones are jumpable.
most peeps I play are doing shit like mashing c.jab on my rushes, straight jumping and coming down with a high priority normal, push blocking, guard cancelling.
I’m having a hard time beating the low jabbers and straight jumpers.
sometimes I’ll try and meaty s.rh or df+rh
but I don’t know what my recovery is after those moves. can I continue my rush cause I recover first if they block? what if it sits there?
it’s not like marvel cause it seems the mine doesn’t actually do anything if i get hit.
