Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

So after a while to think about I’ve decided to second Bishamon. I just dig the way he plays, and I think can fit my style. So any Bishamon mainers get a chance I would like to learn this character, so if you have the time just send me a message on AIM sometime tomorrow, or get at me on GGPO I should be on between noon and 4 in my time zone.

Hmm. I will try and think of something, but if you come up with a succinct way to write “Guide for experienced players who are new to VS”, that’s basically what it is.

I’m getting sick of playing on a keyboard, as it makes DI combos a lot harder than they have to be. Can any of you guys recommend a stick that works on a mac? I have one of those Madcatz SF4 ones for the 360 (not the TE one, the crappy one), but it doesn’t work, even with a driver.

So, “Tutorial”?

Or, “Technical Guide”

Sure, how about “Tutorial” or “Learning VS”? My guide is technical, but I don’t want the wording to scare people off from a game that they’ll already think is too technical, lol.

Demitri page is up Demitri - Vampire Savior Wiki

Dude, Jedah has a purple.
I always try to pick the purple costume, except for Demi, I haven’t even checked which color goes with each button.

so all demitri players are stealing my color then

I like my BBhood green.

so do i :frowning:

Blue Morrigan is the best Morrigan.

Alright, the VS Mind Game guide that I’ve talked about writing before is finally up on the VSav Wiki. The last two sections aren’t done, but maybe I’ll finish them someday. It still doesn’t hurt to have all the rest of my work up, cos there’s a lot of it.

Hope this proves useful to anyone looking to step their game up.

Why isnt your avatar Black Demi then!

We can share, and I’ll pick white BB for mirrors:wink:!

because this av was made for me years ago and wouldnt work until recently cause it was to big lol

Costume colors are on the wiki.

Cool thanks. I can proof read it later to check for typos and stuff. Looks good though.

good shit skankin!

that little run down combined with those character faqs, I don’t see how anyone can say information for this game isn’t available.

nice job, the faqs really have everything an intermediate player needs to get started.

I think if you added youtube clips of the best players playing each character, that would be beneficial as well IMO. So you have the tutorial on the character with all the data on boxes
umbers and now you have video material to understand the characters game.

Late on this but YouTube - For Kyokuji

Yeah it don’t look like anything.

what would an unblockable hitbox even look like anyway

I dunno, Jedah’s qcb+P is unblockable and it’s blue like a fireball, lol.

But since you bring it up, this is what it’d look like http://bit.ly/dl3M6c

Jedah simply stops blocking a couple frames before Zabel’s j.LK is finished. The game just doesn’t think the move is active anymore, but it is. I’m guessing that move use to have less active frames and the total active frames was increased by two or three, and Capcom overlooked the increase and so the opponent’s guard drops earlier than it should. I bet if Zabel had a projectile and it was on the screen at the time then Jedah could block both the j.LK and the projectile, but the last couple frames of his j.LK just doesn’t trigger proximity guard like it should.

Bishamon’s, as we know, is a distance thing not a timing thing (or hitbox thing, or whatever). Proximity guard gets fucked up at a specific range for whatever reason.

Gallon’s, well who knows why that one works. I can’t even begin to guess.

Bulleta’s is just caused by fuzzyguard, since you can’t switch your guard position during blockstop.
