Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Demi’s colors are bad and he should feel bad. =(

i dunno, the green one reminds me of ninja turtles pajamas.

thats pretty cool imo <3

Dr. Zoidberg would agree.

S1 is kind of purplish, dark violet or dark mauve.

But yeah “hope you like blue” cuz he’s got four of 'em. His normal non-S colors are red/green/blue… real imaginative, Capcom.

At least we have his palette locations to edit them now.

I couldn’t tell you exactly why, but I’m almost 100% positive that when you do Talbain’s unblockable, the game thinks you’re trying to block something behind you when you’re already in blockstun from a move that’s in front of you. The main reason I think this is that if you set up the unblockable (do a straight-down BC on an opponent from right on top of them) and don’t follow it up with the unblockable attack, you’ll almost always wind up behind them.

I actually had it shown to me the first time by Takahashi on GGPO (super awesome star-struck moment), and he insisted that you have to be really low to the ground to do the unblockable. I haven’t found that to be necessary, but maybe he knows something about how it works conceptually that I don’t?

I used to think that it had something to do with the corner, but I found out that you can do the unblockable midscreen, it’s just really, really, reeeaaaallly hard to do it, timing-wise.

I’m not sure if you’re particularly interested in figuring out how it works, but if you are, those might be two good starting points.

Well personally I’m not extremely interested in “why”, but it’d be cool trivia/novelty to know.

But I do know that you can do the unblockable in a manner that the opponent leaves blockstun and can move around, at that point it doesn’t matter which direction they push to block. So downleft/downright, left/right, nothing can block it. They will actually walk around instead of raising their guard as if Gallon isn’t attacking. So, it’s possible (probable) that it could be another proximity guard glitch. But rather than it being a distance thing, the game “loses” Gallon’s position/proximity on the playing field, and the opponent simply can not/won’t raise their guard.

On a side note though, if the Gallon player does the last BC too slow the opponent can air block it. That’s probably Takahashi meant, in that if you do it at the right time they can’t block on the ground and they don’t have enough time to get into the air and block (since there’s a jump startup window where you can’t airblock).

The exact distance window for Bishamon’s unblockable to fire is 128-134…anything higher or lower and the opponent will guard the attack. Later versions of the game seem to have this fixed however. Raptor’s does seem to be a case of what you mentioned though, and oddly his is retained through some later versions.

Super great work on the wiki so far. I’ve been using it a lot! I’d like to read more about Rikuo though, if that is possible. Will you update his page any soon?

Well. You see. Aya Immortal had told us he was going to do it since he was “obviously the most knowledgeable about fish” and then he never did.

I might dump some time into it though

Make sure you explain in depth how “derp derrrrrp” works, and how you need extremely talented to properly apply it.

Someone recorded a few games between me and MightyMar earlier today, by the name of Lilith or something similar.

I can put in some things in, since I play him almost exclusively now. I just need someone else to take care of the hitboxes and stuff.

Cool, thanks for clearing it up.
BTW are Phobos, Pyron and Donovan banned if playing the PS2 or DC VER. of the game?

EDIT: Woah, when are you guys gonna work on Anakris’ wiki? Cuz I just watched this match that had his anti-pursuit attack-

EDIT: Also how do you get the autocombo ver. of Gallon’s Moment’s Slice super?

You can go ahead and start adding stuff whenever you want. I’ll get to the hitboxes eventually.

Moment Slice combo is j.Whatever -> c.LP s.MP xx Moment Slice

But theoretically you can do pretty much any standard hunter chain into it. c.Lk c.MK xx slice c.LP s.LK xx Slice etc

I don’t think they’re allowed, but nobody plays the console versions of the game anyway. All tournaments use the arcade version, which doesn’t have those characters.

LOL Fuzzy, we should do more asshole Demitri matches :). About console characters, I feel that as of right now they are not particularly broken therfore I don’t see a problem with putting them in tourneys especially considering that a lot of people got a hard on for Donovan for some reason.

so I played antzer this morning and I actually have proof of what I’ve been complaining about on ggpo.

Imageshack - 46989609.png

so I ask ant the moment my ping goes 1500+ms if he is noticing any input lag and he said none. my connection has basically gone through the roof. This pretty much what happens with skankin too. I’ll be playing fine then all of a sudden, i can’t even input a s.mp without ggpo negating ALL inputs.

Its really fucking weird and I need help.

I can’t get experimental blitter to work either on my pc.

Speaking of bugs:
I was playing some Lilith last night. I got downed by a tenraiha, but countered with a wake-up LI which hit the air dashing Lei-Lei. Though I noticed at the end that it did very little damage. Then I noticed that it was only like an 11-hit combo! So appearantely no mirror image was hitting Lei-Lei during the super. What’s that all about??

I didn’t actually see whether the mirror image was there or not, since it all happened as the tenraiha balls from previously were still tumbling around.
