Vampire Hunter / NightWarriors: Darkstalker's Revenge

So yeah. Don’t know if anyone’s still playing this game, but I’ve been playing it a ton since last year. Still don’t have GGPO, but does anyone frequent Supercade?

Given the upcoming release of Darkstalkers Ressurection which features this game, I figure this thread ought to be bumped.

I’m down to play on GGPO. I used to play with Jedah’s Ministry a lot but that feels like forever ago. Nobody is ever in that room now.

Ask some of the Savior players. Some of them play Hunter too.

ggs on GGPO, whoever that was. Felt hella good to play this again.

Anybody want to kick back and get some GGPO time in? Post here. I know this game won’t be as “big” as Savior but as far as DS goes this is all I feel like playing. Maybe be can get a little group going.

I’ve been bugging the Vsav ranbat people to do a special tournament for Hunter for awhile now.

Rise from your grave.

Cool, what name did you go by back then? I’m omgwtflol on GGPO lately and usually in the VSav or COTA room if you want to play.

and x-post from Dustloop

Some Japanese GGPO casuals from awhile back. Might be a little buggy as this is my first time setting up a stream.

Planning to pick myself up a copy of Resurrection when I’m in Japan for the first week of april. It’s been 11 years since I played Hunter competitively(technically 15 if I count when I first started playing these games in general when I was 7). Was literally my first two competitive Capcom games, and I had already been playing Hunter, as well as V Sav, at my scene consistently(or when ever my mom could get me there). Stopped playing it after that time though since we moved, and I had access to neither a arcade or a ps2.

Should probably make time to get GGPO as well seeing as how I’m not expecting many folks to have it so I can start getting my practice again. Even still though, I’ve been excited about it for a while now so I hope to see some of you folks on it when it’s released state-side(or before that if your getting a JP copy)!

BUMP! Hope to see this thread take off.

Got Resurrection last night on PSN. Hit me up - Decepticonus. I’m maining Demitri and have been mainly playing Night Warriors/Hunter.

Just bought resurrection on xbl. Anyone know where to find good Felicia combos for darkstalkers 3?

Is it just me, because I can’t seem to pull off a dragon punch motion in this game when I need to.

Probably a waste of time asking: any resources out there for learning this game?

HAHA that’s funny. Not that I know of. But with this release I think some people will get stuff going. Maximilian already does.

There’s also these, only a few but good.

But stay away from those IGN ones, they are extremely basic and they spend most of the time speaking more about the character back stories then anything.

This is a pretty good basic primer -

There’s other resources but they aren’t in English:

Any tips on doing Cr.HPxxIllusion (raging demon input)??? I find it near impossible to do this fast enough.

I was having a hard time with this as well.

The way I got it to go was this…

c.lp (index finger)
c.lp (index finger) + c.hp (ring finger) - chains c.lp and c.hp together.

Then move the stick to down/forward

then

c.lk (thumb) ~ c.hp (ring finger)

The hard part about it is training your ring finger to only hit every other time. That’s all, now I get it about 90%. I need to figure out a better way to buffer it though because it would be better if I can start with c.lk instead of c.lp, but for now, this got the timing down for me. I’ve gotten it a few times just going c.lp, c.hp, c.lp, c.lp, f, c.lk, c.hp as directed. It’s hard, but it would just seem to be do it really fast.
It also helps to put it on normal speed to get your fingers used to the movement, and then upping the turbo one by one until you can do it in one solid motion.

That’s a cool tip, to buffer use the clp as part of the combo, but does c.lp hit low? Or can u block it standing?

I practiced with s.HK >> illusion since the HK gives u 2-4 hits to buffer raging demon input. I also turned on input display to see wtf i was doing wrong. It was usually pressing the last HP too fast. Now I can do it abou 50% of the time with cr.lk > cr.hp

Nah, the c.lp is a high hit, which is why I mentioned that the c.lk would be better. I’m working on a way to make it happen, but I can’t yet figure it out.
