Vampire Community Thread: GGPO Hitbox Overlay. Dustloop Tutorial #2 and Why You Lose To Me?

Anyone her has experience with the Demetri-Jedah(my new main) match-up?
It’s like Demetri was tailor made to counter Jedah.

BTW i will be sticking with Jedah. I just love his playstyle and his airdash.

Anyone? Sorry for DP.

I just started playing again after a long-time from this game, bust out the dc and start practicing =)

Sorry I haven’t been on much recently. I’ve had a lot of stuff to do for school recently. Finals are next week though so once that’s over I can sit in GGPO 24/7.

Im gonna ask again.

Does anyone know the Jedah-Demitri match-up? This is a real hard one for Jedah.

Maybe try asking here

Nice work.
And try to stick this as it’s the only thread about streams.

Btw, why there is a “DS4” topic stickied, for such unpopular series, and its only community growth thread is not stickied?

Lets try bringing this to tourneys and see how people like it. Basic form of community growth for those that don’t post at SRK.

I agree that the Jedah-Demitri matchup is pretty shitty for Jedah, but that’s only if you do not train your opponent right and get too airdash happy.

In this matchup I would not recommend using his ground dash or air dash from anywhere besides dash mp or dash hp range. Any good Demitri will just fireball you. Don’t understimate the importance of walking for positioning. Walk forward, block a fireball, read and react. If he jumps, low forward or stand jab anti-air. Once you get into a position to utilize Jedah’s dash game, it’s important here to respect the fact that he’s probably gonna panic and uppercut after getting hit a few times. So, you have to feel that out and don’t get too greedy. Utilize the wheel (or ES wheel) to keep Demitri thinking twice about just uppercutting randomly. Also, recognize that usually whenever Demitri dashes and doesn’t have two meters, he can do one of two things: Uppercut or 360. Uppercut is usually the answer. So, be cognizant of that and be ready to punish it with a standing strong if you block it. A lot of Demitri’s do not utilize the Bat Spin correctly, so if you ever get hit by a bit spin that hits you in the upper torso, you still get a free standing strong for your troubles.

As far as Okizeme goes, you’re gonna have a hard time with Demitri because Jedah doesn’t have a knockdown chain. You basically reset people the entire time. So, you’ll have to utilize crossover dash hk , throw mixups and even utilizing strings such as: Dash HP, low short, low short (confirm these into a chain if you see them hit) jump forward mp> Mk> hp air chain. Jedah has to be constantly thinking mixup, while watching out for Panic DP.

Hope that helps :wgrin:

I know this has been answered but it couldn’t hurt.

How’s your rushdown? I Play the low tiers (mainly Morrigan) and even for them Jedah has like no defense at all. I mean he’s almost as bad as Anakaris. Don’t go on a mix-up crusade or it will DP/GC’d. Try shorter strings that end with a throw/EX throw (the half circle one), Spin Scythe, or qcb+p. Don’t forget to use dark force as invincibility when you need to.

When jumping don’t airdash every time because you give up all defensive options. Instead, use a normal forward jump and hold back the very moment Jedah’s feet leave the ground. If Demetri uppercuts, you win :wgrin:. If he does nothing you have the option of:

A) J.MP/J.MK/J.HP, land, cr.lp, forward, throw
B) Airdash (switch sides), any air normal with reach, land, dash hp/mp.
C) Safe jump, throw
D) Spin Scythe

There’s more of course but in this match up you have to consider the situations you put yourself in when you advance with a dash. A good Demetri will Dp you every time he sees an airdash coming. The game AI for Demetri is great jump-in practice.

people shouldn’t play jedah while not being gdlk

they need to learn to rushdown and jedah is perfect for that cause its all jedah has

Repost from the other games vampire savior thread (thanks Felineki).

If anyone else has some footage that they would like me to put up I will gladly do so.

Good stuff MM!

Had fun watching that.

We need to do some mirrors man, so I wont be getting pushblocked and crying about it.

Can’t believe they played all 3 games. I didn’t think anyone played the first Darkstalkers game.

Great footage though, wish I was there.

Anyone know how good of a port the PS1 Darkstalkers game was? I’m thinking of picking it up and possible holding some casuals for my friends at my Christmas party.

As far as I know, hardly anyone does, since much like SF2WW there were still a lot of kinks to be worked out, both system-wise and character-wise. But it’s definitely interesting to see what all is different when compared to the later games.

One thing that becomes apparent in a few of the Savior 2 matches is that all throw invincibility has been removed from hitstun/wakeup/reset etc. recovery, allowing for tick throws and throw traps. This was one of the system changes in the Savior to Savior2/Hunter 2 transition, and one that seemed to not have been received well by players.

Yea, I haven’t played that much Savior 2 but everyone tells me it’s balls compared to VS1. Only thing I did like about it was the inclusion of the characters we didn’t get in VS1.

I’m just getting into this game, thanks for this thread.

edit: second day of trying out this game, and I really like it. I play on mame os x because everytime i try to set up GGPO through crossover i fail miserably (feel free to give me tips on that if you’re in my situation). Workin on my demitri, got down some midnight pleasure stuff, and breezed through the normal arcade mode until the final boss which kicked my ass. Hopefully I can play some real people soon (and fix my arcade stick) so I can get better.

I liked the colors :sunglasses:
