When you’re on episode select, press square. It’ll bring out a tab for you to select a chapter, and then you’ll also see the things you bought from her there.
Alicia and Vyse are my favorite characters. Welkin is a close third.
I just got the game today. Very good combat system. This is definitely the standard now for any SRPG.
Regarding Japanese voices: The subtitles are WAY off. I’m not exactly a god at Japanese, but I know enough to know when shit is off. I just use English. They voice work isn’t too bad.

[details=Spoiler]The side missions/stories really help flesh out the character’s personalities/past. Plus the extra exp/$$ helps too. I’ve been doing all the skirmishes and side quests I can find along with the main story and so far I’ve logged in 27hrs 30min; I’m halfway through chapter 15. :woot:
Largo reminds me of Barret from FF7. :bgrin:
His vegetable sidequest was too funny.

Your gonna be one sad dude eventually…
Just finished it.
possibly
[details=Spoiler]I wanted Selvaria to have a bigger role in the game. She’s on the cover for cryin’ out loud.

I just wanted to get in this thread and say…This game is fuckin’ awesome. Are there any other RPGs out there that have a battle system similar to this game?
Got this game like a week ago and i’m loving it so far, kinda reminds me of jagged alliance 2, even if the resemblance is very very vague.
Do you have some kind of a theme going with the squad setup you use? like for example i mostly use scouts and snipers in the beginning of the missions and maybe have like 1-2 troopers mixed up there to rush the shit out. then i just capture a few camps up ahead and use them to destroy any tanks, usually from the behind.
What strats and setups do you guys favor? to be honest, i don’t really use my tanks that often (i’m at chapter 14 now i think, haven’t done the actual chapter fight yet) unless i have to (smoke grenades or something similar), the amount of CP they take compared to using the defense orders and just running around with lancers seems to be a bit off. any opinions on this?
Great game, definitely one of my favourite ps3 games so far.
On Chapter 17. This game is LONG if you try and go through everything.
VC is the first to use this system.
Man, I’m still on chapter 6. I play super-aggressively, though. It’s either 1-or-2 turn victory or defeat for me.
You know… I wish the rank for each battle wasn’t determined by how fast you can beat it, but more of how many camps you captured, and how many enemies you killed. I get mostly C and D ranks because I always try to kill all the enemies. It’s more enjoyable that way to me. On my 2nd playthrough I’ll probably try to rush through everything.
I can do Skirmish 2 in one turn. Easiest skirmish ever.
I can’t wait to see it. I hope it’s all done in the game’s engine.
i’ll try to pick this up Thursday at CC but was wondering how many hours did you guys logged in to beat this?
You’ll be destroying all the skirmishes once you
‘Don’t read until you’re at Chapter 11’

get the smokescreen.
Just under 35 for me (I did all the side-stuff too).
Just beat the game. It’s already a given that the graphics/gameplay/presentation and all those other categories own, so I’ll just describe how I felt about the story.
thoughts
[details=Spoiler]The story was your typical good vs evil. So in these cases, it’s the characters and their development that will really you draw you into the game, which VC does an awesome job with. The only thing bad I’d have to say about the game’s story was that the Valkyria were sort of like a minor plot in this game. Selvaria’s role was so limited.
Anyways, the ending I thought was great. Would’ve been cool to see a scene for all the other characters too though instead of just descriptions. But still, I thought the ending was very satisfying. Especially when it showed the picture of squad 7, it gave me that empty feeling. Can’t believe it’s over!!!
Oh and Alicia’s hairdo was hot.[/details]
And why the hell didn’t they add HARD STORY mode too. I hope we get that DLC soon.
And screw all the reviewers who thought that this game having a lot of cutscenes was a bad thing. Hello? It’s an RPG? There’s suppose to be a decent amount of narrative/cutscenes. They aren’t even that long to begin with. Only bad thing about this game was that it wasn’t hard enough.
Edit: nm, Septimus already did.
