airborne crack kick wont remedy the throw issue whatsoever unless it’s airborne on 1F and even then it wont do it well.

Crack kick is 14F startup. It’s risky to use up close because of the fact it’s so slow AND it can’t ever hit a crouching opponent. Hence why you use it from outside of the range of most characters crLP/crLK/crMK and use it as an approach tool (which being airborne WOULD make better.)

You are already using it outside of the range that the opponent would attempt a stand throw. If you tried to use it to bait a throw up close the risk that the opponent would just do a crouching normal is still there and you literally have a 0% chance to counter that attack with crack kick.

You’re facing Ryu, you’ve done a couple of frame traps he’s blocked and done delayed techs. You expect him to go for a stand throw on your next frame trap so you do crack kick. He does a delayed crouch tech expecting you to possibly be going for a frame trap. His crLK = 16F total (4/3/9) crack kick = 29F total and cannot ever hit crouching. His crLK whiffs so he goes for a chain to crLP hitting you out of the air. Resetting the situation to neutral. It’s better than him getting a full combo like he does now in that situation but it still doesn’t solve the issue of stand teching.

Crack kick airborne is great. It makes it a much better approaching tool in neutral, and it gives him the ability to corpse hop on knockdown giving him the ability to safely get out of the corner or even set up some left - right shenanigans like Blanka’s hop or Abel’s roll. It however doesn’t make his throws any more scary. Airborne + hitting crouching would be the only way to do that (See moves like: Sakura’s LK Tatsu, Dan’s LK Danku, Rufus IA Dive kick, Fei’s F+MK overhead, Cammy TKCS, Makoto IA Axe Kick, Adon IA Axe Kick, Rose’s close MK (not airborne but throw invincible), ect.)

I actually like the fact it can’t it crouchers. I use it very occassionally after say two jabs/cr.lp, cr.mp etc to get back in(sweep range). Maybe it works better for me than it should because it is online… Unfortunately i don’t play offline even though i wish i could, so this shit probably won’t work then haha. Probably best to walk back a bit and see if they stand throw and punish that on reaction, less risky. Might post a few videos to get feedback as i i’m afraid i have a developed a few bad habits…

@Eternal if you do a jab which is blocked, and then input it, it would work if it’s throw invincible on the sixth frame.
