Good games again to everyone that went today. SSFIV went along nicely, along with the side games of Third Strike and MvC2. Trust me, that’s the only time you’ll see a Strider/Doom/Cammy team haha.
I booked next week’s session to be August 3. Same time, same place. We need to make sure to bring more equipment (sticks) so we don’t get stuck playing with keyboards hahahaha
Hey so I’m going to be an upcoming freshman at UW. Is stuff like this gonna be running throughout the day during school or is it just for gatherings? And I was also wondering if a lot of people play at Pink Gorilla. I’m actually from Hawaii so I’ve only been there twice when I went up for orientation but from what I’ve seen, no one was there
The Console Freeplay group will in all liklihood still be holding weekly meetings during the school year. I can’t say for certain since I’m no longer president, but I don’t see why they’d stop. Pink Gorilla is honestly pretty empty. I too wish there were more people there playing Marvel or willing to show me CvS2.
Duggish speaks the truth. Anyone interested in teaming up for a UW Team?
The stuff we’ve been doing at the library is all still pretty new, and is only really planned for this summer. Depending on schedules and availability of the space during the regular academic year, things may change once Autumn quarter starts. Hopefully we’ll be able to find time during the regular year to make regular sessions in the same room (because honestly I think it’s really convenient with it being free to use and easy to set up at).
I was playing MvC2 at Pink Gorilla yesterday actually - I’ve only been going there recently during lunch breaks. But Hyper Inferno is right, it’s pretty dead. I end up always finishing the arcade modes of MvC2 and CvS2 before anyone even walks past me (although shockingly a guy challenged me twice at MvC2 yesterday while I was playing). I think the second player side has a brand new stick since it feels like it hasn’t been broken into yet, which should give you a good idea of how much people play there -_-.
Anyways, welcome to UW. Keep this thread in mind once Autumn Quarter rolls around, we’ll probably have something going to keep this campus scene active.
Hey so I am starting to want to get serious about ssfiv and am a student at uw taking summer classes, so is it just tuesdays between 2-4 at odeguard where people meet?
Yes. We’ll be meeting tomorrow from 2-4pm at Odegaard Room 334. If you want to learn fundamentals, we’ll be more than willing to give a few pointers
To everyone else: I’ll bring an Xbox 360 tomorrow. This way, we can have two setups going on. What we need are STICKS!! Bring them tomorrow, unless you guys want to play arcade mode haha
I really had a blast, and, as I already knew, have a lot to learn. Excited for next time. If there was a way to make this more frequent that would be tight.
