UW Thread revival (Casuals/Gatherings/Tourneys)

ps3 stick and if we really want I can bring my ps3

Seeing as how it’s August, you could start to work on putting a club together for the UW. You likely won’t get any money, but you can use it to organize events, reserve rooms on campus, get discounted rates on cheap rooms, advertise to players, and generally give people who are looking for a gaming club someone to talk to.

You would need five people to be officers and you need to attend a short 30 minute meeting on having a club. Hyper Inferno (Chris) could let you know more about it.

I’m in the room right now. If anyone wants to come by earlier than usual, feel free to do so.

I figured out the problem with my stick. For some reason, the analog is permanently stuck on up left. It didn’t affect F/UC, 3S, or GGXX:AC since I guess analog is disabled by default on those games.

So, does anyone know how to solve this problem?

The way the pad interprets the direction of the analog stick is controlled by variable resistors - since the analog is stuck in up-left, I’m assuming that you removed the analog stick from the pad? You’ll need to solder a couple of resistors to the board to replace the variable resistors you removed, so that the pad “sees” the analog at neutral. I’m not sure exactly how much resistance you need - try asking in the tech-talk forum.

Btw, my stick started working perfectly fine as soon as I got home - I think it just hates me.

I’m just down in the tac but I’m from Seattle and frequently visit. I’m hella down to get some casuals in for sure. I didn’t even realize but I think were friends on Xbox live already. Unfortunately the internet is down at my house right now. 2064377424 is my number so get at me homie so we can figure something out

The odd thing is, I did a bit more troubleshooting and it only gets stuck in the up left position if its plugged into player 2. In player 1, it gets stuck for a while, then stops.

So are these sessions still going on cause I live real close to the u and would be down to participate

Fixed it. Yay! Now just pray we don’t have another malfunction next week. Yeah, this session should happen again next week. And this time, we’ll actually have two different setups running two different games! Hopefully.

Personally I like the idea for starting a club based off fighting games (with a focus on ssfiv most likely). Apparently no one likes my idea of naming it Shoryuken at the UW though… grumble grumble

But yeah next week well have my ps3 with ssfiv (and marvel if were bored), I can’t remember the other station.

so when are the sessions exActly so I know when and where to show up

2:00 every Tuesday, at room 334 in Odegaard.

I’ll bring a multimeter, screwdriver, and soldering iron next time so we don’t have this problem again.

So, it’ll be what?

PS2:
GGXX:AC
MB:AA
SF Anniversary (3S/ST)

PS3:
SSFIV
MvC2

I’ll have my 360 again.

double ssf4 IMO for the practice I havent been getting haha

Okay this may be a little out of place but I’ve been hosting sessions for Soul Calibur 4 for over a year now at my house in Ballard. We’ve been going strong every week and even though I personally have no desire to change we do have some SF players there. So if any of you all wanna play some SC and get some other games in hit us up on 8wayrun.com and you’ll see us on the Seattle thread. Thanks.

GGs everyone, I hope having double Super setups made up for last week.

**Also, I have room 334 reserved for this Friday, from 12-4 pm. **Anyone that wants to stop by, do it! I’ll have my 360 again, to get ready for TP6 this weekend.

Awesome, I’ll definitely be showing up. Gotta get some major practice in now that summer quarter will finally be over. I looked to see if the room was available after 4, but it looks like it’s booked for other people. So I guess we’ll be having a 4-hour power session.

Also, great games today. It was cool having double setups - we pretty much had nonstop playing time for everyone who came by. By the way, anyone have portable speakers or something for the bigger TV? Playing without sound for that one is lame.

Oh yeah, it was also cool being able to play a little Melty Blood as well. It really does feel like you are doing more than you really are doing haha

I really will bring my screwdriver this time. Fix the lucky stick!

If anyone is interested to get more practice for TP6 after the 4 hour session I am down. If worst comes to worst people are welcome to come to my room (sorry 1 tv) as I will be practicing tough, unless someone has a better idea for extra practice area.
