I would’ve made the last tourney except that we had Midway scheduled for family time and General Conference about a month in advance. With this round of the tournament being on Saturday, there shouldn’t be a problem, schedule permitting. If I can go, Andrew can most likely go. Weekends usually work better for tournaments is all, especially with weird early morning work schedules. Not an excuse, just an explanation.
It’s great to hear that the tournament went so well and the setup sounds AWESOME! 20 people too! Take that, Gamestop.
And recording of matches…that would rock. It will help everyone to step up their game.
And about how to make the list…well, in the post section, there’s a # symbol right above the text window. It’ll wrap whatever text you’re writing in
tags, thus making a new, separate box where it can keep the spacing you want, because in the normal text window, any long spaces are automatically reformatted to keep the words close together. Unfortunately, you have to remember how far apart things are spaced. For example, here is the spacing order for the UTSF list. 10-14-17-17-15. This means that the Name SRKusername Xbox gamertag etc. is 10 spaces, 14 spaces, and 17 spaces long. Everything has to be exactly spaced that far apart to give the illusion of formatted columns. Kinda screwy, but the result is a clean-looking list.
So when are we going to have Rankings? It would certainly add to the hype and give the community their kings to dethrone, giving people more incentive to practice, train, and come out to events. It sounds like with tournaments won and just straight tournament placement that Brian would be at the top if we went retroactively, which I don’t have a problem doing; we need to start somewhere. I think that Kelly had the 10-7-3-1 idea for points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively; that would work. We’ve also kept good track of all the tournament we’ve held, so going back and totaling everything would be easy. We’d have to decide which tournaments to count, though; my vote would be all the non-GS tournaments (Andy’s, Nate’s, etc.) as that was when the UTSF scene really began and we could use our preferred controllers and sticks. Any complaints or can I just do it? I can add it to the list…:wgrin:…there’s room right after the Evo column…:wgrin: Or we can just start from here on out. Or not at all.
Anyone? Bueller?
