Yeah, was a really fun time. Not really sure what I can do different against that Guile… It is Sim’s second worst matchup behind broken ass Gief. I’ll work on it, but looks like I might pick up a secondary character to deal with matchups like those. Oh well, I just took a dump and need to wipe. <3 MacBook

Let’s recap the Tourney at SLCC Jordan Campus:
- 20 ppl enter
- 5 pools, with 4 in each pool, round robin.
- Everyone advances, results in pool determine standing in double elimin bracket and if you get a bye or not.
- Double elim bracket was best of 3, 3/5 rounds.
- King of the Cabinet never really happened
Let me just say, the comment I heard the most was “That was alot of fun.” Team UtahNoobs put on an awesome fucking tourney. Only thing disappointing was some of the regulars didn’t show up however we saw some new quality players.
There were 7 BIG SCREEN PROJECTORS all with SF4 being played. UtahNoobs provided 4 joysticks also. The event room was huge also.
I have to admit I had a blast at that place, most fun I’ve had playing SF4 in a long time. Free sodas were provided, there was a 2 dollar entry free that was kinda announced late, but that was no big deal. . .it’s two bucks.

Brian knocked Matty out of the upper brackets, then Brian knocked me out of the upper brackets. I played Matty in loser bracket finals and LET him win****. Matty met Brian again and same results as their first meeting.
In related news, seems we’ve converted alot of pad players to stick. Brian was liking the TE sticks.
There were also sponsored prizes, 1. Got some headphone 2. Some speakers for labtop 3. Some energy drink/t-shirt

I’ve been working on this quite a bit this weekend up here in Midway (hope the wife doesn’t kill me) due to some suggestions about the format. What do you think? This is neater and should show up well in whichever SRK skin you choose to use. Also, there is room for expansion to the right if people have ideas about more information to be included (maybe ranking battle scores, tournament/event attendance, main/secondary characters, etc.) you’d just have to use a left-right scroll bar to do it. No biggie.
In addition, due to suggestions by you, I’ve expanded the divisions due to increased membership and changed some names (see Cache, Weber and the dropping of “Valley”), a North-South list order, and begun to integrate non-SRK members. Basically, everyone gets on the list, but if they don’t have a SRKusername, then obviously they’re not a SRK member (see Weber for VFDC.com members). That doesn’t mean that they don’t or can’t play UTSF or come out to events, just that they’re not on this site. So if you know of anyone else that wants to be on the list or that has come out to events in the past, PM me and they’re in. The only thing that would get you off this list is moving out of state or long-term inactivity (no posting, no tournaments, no effort.) That seems reasonable, doesn’t it? No need to inflate our numbers; they seem to do that themselves!

Just got done with a short meet-up in Ogden with Wallace aka THE_WALL and a friend of his named Cody. Played some SFIV and then hit up the NickelCade (new concept to me!) for a while to play some other fighters (SFIICE, TTT, MKII). GREAT fun!
It’s likely that we’ll carpool to the next SLC event together. It’s also likely that we’ll have a meet-up at my house in Layton for some SFIV, along with some matches on the SFIII and SSFII stand-ups in the basement. Any of you are welcome to get in on some of that action as well.
Anyhow, I’m glad to finally start meeting new people in the area. It’s kinda tough moving to another part of the country and not knowing anyone with similar interests. Glad I found this thread!

underrealm got me alot, he is real good. I got him a couple of times, mainly with Ryu or Sagat.
Ryu and Sagat are solid in SF4. I wish that I liked playing them. My guys are Guile, Blanka, and some occasional Rose and Gen. I haven’t played Kyle yet; sounds like it’d be good!
