I’m able to do a tournament on March 28th, Saturday evening. I will only have time for one, maybe two games. I’m thinking about giving giving the 3S or HDRemix guys a chance for a tournament. SF4 would be fine, too. Anyone interested?

My boss switched my days off next week so I can go to watch the GS tourney tomorrow. Hopefully some of us can get together afterwards to play some games elsewhere?

Man, that’d be tight. The GS tournament is hampering my get-together-ability right now. If I lose Round 2, then it’ll be so much easier to do stuff. If I win…well, I have to find a way to get to Seattle, I guess. But then I’m still in my current situation; lots of practice, some quick gaming and practice with UglyDuckling, and go to the tournament.
I’m trying to get in some Live practice tonight at UglyDuckling’s house sometime after 9pm. That’s the best I can do for right now; maybe we can get a big Utah group going online. Andy, it’s rematch time – Fei vs Guile. Dash’ – let’s see how good you’ve become. Konqrr – join us. Everyone else (Flex, Etelmik, etc.) let’s see if we can get something going online.
I can’t speak for Ugly, but I think it’d be cool.
I only have a stick for PS3 right now and it seems everyone here plays this game on the 360…so someone let me user their stick!

Also, my saved data just got corrupted again. I don’t know why it keeps doing that. Does the RROD have to do with that? It does it around that time but it didn’t today or yesterday and now it’s corrupted again. This is the 3rd time my BP reset to 0 and now I have to unlock characters again and Rose is my alt : |
Depressing. So the box usually works but its RROD’d twice since I got SFIV. They’re not gonna get all pissed when I send it in and they’re able to turn it on, are they?

That’s what it looks like to me. We’ll meet up at the GS tourney and discuss it.
- Probably, the system shuts down or stops working due to RROD while saving and corrupts it. The same thing like if your game was saving and the power goes off. Why you’re able to still use your system after RROD without using the dangerous “towel trick” or something else is beyond me. Just send it in to M$ already.

That’s easy, just beat the game with Dictator on the “easiest” setting, set to one round matches.

If you are getting the RROD, then they will fix it for free. Just explain what is happening when you begin the repair.

Now that I’ve been eliminated from nationals, I’ll hopefully be able to start running Cache/Weber county tournaments again soon. Aiming for late March/early April there. Might need to find a new host because the current layout of LFU no longer accommodates tournament play at all, really.
But once I can find some hosts, how’s it sound for everybody?
Also, Wall wants to start doing regular Ogden gatherings. He’s got a nice place for it. We’re actually over there right now with three TVs running, sticks for everyone, and so on.

Hey, thanks to everyone who showed up at the GS tournament in West Jordan. I guess that Chase and I need to work on our tourney skills! Just the same, it sure was nice to see people (players and not) standing around a screen to watch two people play Street Fighter. THAT was awesome.
Meeting old and new friends was great, too. Andy and Konqrr, man, you’re both great. Thanks for taking some time out to see your fellow Utah players. I finally met Spencer Devine and I’m impressed. Hopefully we can get him out to some events, not just because he’s got skills but he’s just a good guy to have around. Andrew! Man, your Sagat is good stuff. Good luck in AZ.
Finally, congrats to the winner, Patrick Stewart (yep, not a typo), and good luck to him in AZ. Incidentally, I worked for his dad at a medical equipment company during the summer of '96 at a store across from the Fashion Place Mall. Every afternoon I’d go there for lunch, some KI2 and UMK3. GOOD TIMES!

That was some good times today. Nice to meet some of you; Andy, Andrew, Spencer, and Dana again 
It’s really too bad that everyone was forced to play with no unlockable characters and on that horrid d-pad, can’t really take it too seriously that way, but it was fun to be there to watch.
I was the only one who showed up at Andy’s house to play, but I’m not complaining, I had a great time. That was some real nice Fei Long and Ryu play there. Can’t wait for next time when we have a good turnout!

It looks like the CV joint broke. Thank God it happened in stop and go traffic because if it broke while on the freeway I probably wouldn’t be here right now.
Okay, so THE_WALL should be joining us here as soon as his get-together finishes. I bailed early because Gallows and his family had to get back to Logan, otherwise we probably would’ve been rolling SFIV and VF5 until dawn.
I’m not sure how I feel about having been eliminated from nationals the way I was. I mean, there’s no shame in losing to the guy I lost to, but with this more than likely being my final year of competition and all, it kicked off the inevitable wave of self-doubt.
On the other hand, I can now look straight ahead to Evo and know that I won’t even have to so much as look at a gamepad again for a VERY long time.
And now all you other Utah guys are showing up and making me want to stick around for whatever happens with this huge community that looks like it sprang up overnight. >_<
I’m happy to see it though. This is something that started in 2002 with me, Ugly and his bros, Dan Silver, Ernie Thompson, Tony Stockseth, and a few other crazy bastards, and now we’re seeing mini-communities spring up in SLC, Ogden, Logan, and Provo, and even talking about rivalries. This is what I wanted to see all along. Even if my arm keeps me from being a long-term part of this, I will still hang out for get-togethers and still run tournaments or whatever else will help the Utah community, this is what I wanted to see. Thank you.
