USF4 | Tier List Thread (updated October 2015)

I don’t think Bison is top 10, I still find it funny people can’t deal with scissors. As for Evil Ryu, there’s so many online… Rose also.

Cammy still top 10 potential. Too bad I give away free PP, by being stubborn and going for max damage punishes on this lag fest we have online. I also have setups, where if you DWU, you’re still gonna have to guess. In fact, I don’t have to think at all.

I want to play Dee Jay, but there’s just no reason to.

When that interview with combofiend came out a couple days ago about how he thinks a lot of characters are underrated, I saw some of the dumbest comments I have ever seen.

These people were actually arguing with Dee Jay mains, and other more knowledgeable players about how Dee Jay was a good character, and how people just don’t know how to use him. I fucking lol’d for a good half-hour at their stupidity.

I assumed those are the players who think his jump knee is unbeatable, and fall for Air Slasher, walk up slide errytime.

In Ultra, it’s not ridiculous to assert that he’s not as good a character anymore. In AE, he was actually really good, and as trivial as it sounds—yes, some people didn’t know how to use him—I’m talking on a more advanced level. Unless you’re a main with the guy, then it’s easy to dismiss that as fact. I was no expert, but I stopped ranked with Deejay on AE after I hit 14.5k and then slumped a bit and stopped and just played endless. So, I’m no Kurokiba or Kraken, but trust me, he was good.

Seriously, DJ is bottom 3. I have a lot of experience with the character against good opponents. I’ve played many money matches and have major experience. what i can tell you is that DJ has holes that many characters can exploit. Currently, I’m ranked number 1 on xbl and I’m trying to figure things out. I don’t have anything positive to say yet. Well, he beats Hugo and T.Hawk . Currently, Kurokiba, FreeJay, Willpower, Affi, Dialupslim, and I are trying new characters because DJ won’t cut it. He is really that bad. The new system mechanics don’t even help .

Hey DaKnut, didn’t realize you were DJStillSucks lol. I’m with you. His new mechanics are awful. I haven’t had any trouble with Hugo or T. Hawk, as expected. I’m right there behind you. I was trying to catch up to #2 or #3 but the lag on ranked has been so terrible, I can barely play. Are there any characters since the update that are giving you more trouble now? For some reason, I’ve been losing to Cody and used to win that matchup 90% of the time.

Guy:seems worse. IDK yet.
Yang:6-4 to 4-6

Made a tier list with tier list maker.

I really just made this to see what I think the cast myself. Even if it is wrong. Early tier list are funny albeit mostly inaccurate. But to find the right way, one must err.

I mean I can certainly see Cody v Deejay shifting from DA for Cody to even but I’m curious about why you feel it does. I think Deejay’s LK Sobat being -3F helps in this MU a bit but not quite as much as low invincibility. Cody losing 40 damage on U2 hurts him a bit since he has a variety of anti projectile tools but they all are pretty lacking and U2 was probably the best one. However Cody’s -4F LP CU means deejay loses a BUNCH of punishes. Previously Deejay could punish any blocked LP CU regardless of spacing with a sLK buffered to sobat and at most ranges with a crMK but at only -4F Deejay can only punish with crLK and I think Cody can space it to make crLK whiff but it’s hard to do so. Faster forward walk speed means Deejay can’t keep him out as long though Cody still will struggle to get in without a good read and a jump in.

DWU Helps Cody more than it helps DJ in this MU.

That is my view on it.

Yea I think she is very strong this time around. Dwu doesn’t affect her that much. But it is early so it is my best guess.

Bison is definitely top 10. He was mainly lacking serious damage and comeback factor, they gave him just that.

I don’t think so. I say around high mid maybe low high. I think he is better yes but still has some of the same flaws. They alleviated them a bit but they still there. There are bigger problem character than Bison. It early so I probably wrong.

DWU and Cody’s back dash helps Cody big time. DJ can still out zone Cody but it’s not as rewarding as before

Not top 3 good. A character is not S tier until you start seeing him at every top 8 (like Akuma/Cammy/Fei Long in AE 2012).

Ibuki with vortex and unblockables has barely ever cracked top 10 at any major. I remember ClakeyD made top 6 once 20 years ago, Sako actually won like 2 and made top 8 a couple more times, and ChrisG would use her whenever split the pot, but that’s it. And now her main offensive tool got weakened, so… Sure she’s gotten some buffs, but other characters have gotten buffs too and meta doesn’t favor her.
