Why are people saying Bonchan doesn’t know the matchup? You think he doesn’t play Rose players in Japan? Japan has the best Rose player in AE2012, Kawaguuchi(I haven’t seen him play Ultra). A number of very strong Rose players have also surfaced now that she has been buffed in Ultra. Perhaps there is some additional tech to be discovered but I doubt Ryan knows something that Bonchan doesn’t.
I’m very sure both players know the matchup pretty well…and know that it’s hopeless for Sagat without the Rose player making some critical mistakes.

Because he played it poorly on a fundamental level and didn’t seem to know what buttons or spacing to use in neutral? I suppose we could say that he was doing a super-meta tactic, but until he says he was doing that, we don’t have anything else to go on. Just because there are strong Rose players doesn’t mean he’s played them, or played them often. I’m not saying he knew nothing, but that he didn’t know it on a good level.

Of course. Cause when luffy wins, he wins cause he’s a better player winning bad matchups. When he loses, the player is worse, but won cause of a bad matchup. In other words. Luffy is the best in the world. Kappa.

I don’t know if people are too familiar with Cuongster, he used to be a Honda player, but his Yun is very good right now.
Also shows that Rose still struggle a lot against divekicks characters and Yun.
Looking at the Capcom Pro Tour standings I think Bonchan could just sit on his current total of 536 and still get in the Capcom Cup without attending another CPT event. Most of the guys around him are either qualified or will continue finishing high in CPT events(like Ricky) in the future meaning they’ll probably prevent others from moving up so Bonchan won’t have to worry about multiple people gaining on him. You have guys like ChuChu and Brenos from Brazil who have no way of gaining more points unless they travel to the US or Europe. Other guys like Valmaster or Velociraptor have almost no chance of at least surpassing Bonchan unless they start winning multiple events that will probably be chock full of top talent.
So 10 spots are guaranteed while 6 are given to the guys who finish within the top 6 in points without winning a automatic spot. It sure feels like Bonchan, Justin, Ricky, and Kbrad are automatics at this point since Bonchan has such a big lead over non-EG and the EG boys will continue attending CPT events and finishing in top 8. Leaves very little room for others to catch up at this point. I wonder how the Japanese will respond? It’s like everybody except Momochi has pretty much ignored the CPT. Will Mago, Tokido, Daigo, Kazunoko and others finally attend one of the Premiere events towards the end of the year to try and claim one of the few remaining spots because they sure as hell can’t win enough points to get in now without a shit ton of traveling.
