People just arent used to fighting against rose. Rarely do you see any good roses online. She is one of those characters

SnakeEyez was one round away in a 3/5, I’d say he was the closest.
Rose’s only thing that pops out as unfair has always been her backdash, I’m always cool with characters having unfair shit, I love it. Luffy was great all weekend with her japanese vendetta, he definetly deserves it.
Also the Sagat vs Rose matchup looks like ass.

I think we all can agree that Rose’s backdash IS too good in a game that revolves around defensive options; however, this shouldn’t be used to discredit Luffy as he was the best player that night. The amount of clutch moments that came out of that mans matches were unreal, and he definitely deserved that victory.
I’ll say it again for the people saying Snake Eyez should’ve won; his ONLY realistic chance of winning EVO was if he beat Fuudo in winners, and Bonchan lost 2 games in a row in winners and losers. So I’m actually glad that Luffy clutched it out against Snake Eyez, because he showed that he actually could win the whole tournament, while Snake would’ve got 2nd place at best.
Better tell Chun and Cammy that mess, too.
I actually told someone the other day that I feel this match might be unwinnable for Ryu. Obviously it’s an overstatement, but it doesn’t feel like it if you actually play the match.
I had Luffy as one of my favourites to win ever since I heard he was going to EVO. The Rose buffs combined with the system changes + his raw skill = top 8 at the very least, at least in my head.
Great EVO overall. Now I get to expect hate mail for playing Rose even though I’ve been using her for a couple years now =(

I don’t agree that roses back dash is too good. Sure its better than most but that does not mean too good.
Nobody should be complaining about rose being too good in any way.
Have you ever OS’d her backdash with an ultra only for her to block it? all characters (except chun and maybe cammy) get hit with ultra if you os their backdash but somehow this magician bitch gets away all the time
i think her backdash is fine. she goes to a corner and her reversal isnt throw invul
This, really. I love SnakeEyez, best Gief in the world and takes the character I use to his best possible form. SnakeEyez was pretty much out the moment Bonchan beat Gackt unless his Oni counterpick got better.
Yeah, I guess I should’ve stated what I said in different way. Rose’s backdash is just really annoying and it is too good for a backdash in general (she can punish throw attempts after the backdash!), but given the fact that her other defensive tools are lackluster, it’s not that bad.

Its perfectly fine if a character has something good. Yeah, SOME characters cant fuck with her backdash. So what? Rose has other weaknesses, focus on those.

Louffy may have beaten the other players but against Bonchan, he beat Sagat, not Bonchan. It’s a very hopeless matchup, about as hopeless as if Snakeyez fought Bonchan’s with Gief.
Is it just me, or did Fuudo make Fei-Gief look worse than Sagat-Gief?
