still not mathematically out.
Mago can keep being in A league but the requirements are hard:
he has to win both of tomorrow games 3-0
Bonchan has to lose 0-3 his two games
Haitani has to lose one other game on top of the vs Mago one
with this set of concurrences Bonchan and Haitani are relegated and Mago is saved. Any other combination or results condemns Mago but also doesn’t warrant anything to the other two.
8 players out of 12 are still at risk of going back to B league as soon as tomorrow. Only wao, michaeltan, momochi and Daigo are mathematically safe from relegation. All shoto players btw.
And Wao is the only one who’s already mathematically in for Topanga League 4, since now he has a guaranteed spot in the top 4 of phase 1 thus skipping phase 2 which gives 1 more relegation and 2 play-offs
Damn if only Dakou picked Ryu right off the bat, i’m pretty sure Daikou used to be a Ryu main and he switched to Ken recently. Looks like he wasn’t warmed up properly when he was playing Ken.
Well he’s mained Cammy for a while now. I haven’t seen his Ryu or Fei-long since 2012. Ken is just his counter-pick against Fei-long. If anything I would’ve hoped that he picked Sakura earlier since he was doing so well.
Either way he had a great showing but it’s still a shame that he didn’t make it to Capcom Cup. He’s my favorite player by far. Also congrats to Gackt, who was my other favorite player in this tournament, for finally showing his skills properly. For a long time he has given Xian a hard time even when he’s been messing around with his pocket Ryu so it has been obvious how skilled he is.
Just ignore him Oilforthewin. Ever since Infiltration bested Daigo in 12’ Evo and cap 25th Emil’s been riding the hatewagon hard. It’s understandable since he throws rose petals every time he sees a japanese pro players. When Daigo 10-2’d Infil Emil prob needed to get several new pairs of underwear. Kidding aside, this Asia Qual really felt like an Evo-like event. The general play was just ridiculous, it seems everyone outside of japan has levelled up considerably. It’s a shame that everyone will have to start back from zero when Ultra gets released.
Was there a specific reason why they had setup the tourney this way? It seems these last 2 spots seemed insanely harder than the other random qualifiers we’ve had (cept Evo obv). Still seeing Dakou bust out his secret Sakura tech, the double option select ultra, Infil reacting to Gamerbee’s lunge punch with 2 dps… I mean there were some insane moments in this tournament. On a side question Oilforthewin, what is the actual matchup for Hakan vs Fei? Was it at least an even match? It seemed a poor choice considering Fuudo is prob one of the best people at zoning with his insane reactions, just trying to understand Infil’s logic on choosing Hakan. Doubt he did it for fan service, or did he just gamble that Fuudo would be unfamiliar the way Hugo101 lost as well?
