Thanks this actually helped dunno if it’s fixed all the lag but it got rid of the weird lag I was feeling.
It didn’t help I’m still having crap connections between other uk players french people with 0pp/bp on endless are fine though.
Worst thing about the switch over was losing my gfwl friends list I miss having a separate friends list for sf.
That’s something else then. I wasn’t aware that Capcom is now signing the files. I haven’t performed a thorough check, but they don’t appear to be encrypted in any way, just signed. At some point the game should compare the signatures and then decide if the file is legit. If you can figure out the signature of the modded file, you can just replace the key in the signature file and it should load.
Well I know the checksum type being used since I just found out and posted in the SF4 mod thread (SHA1) and we know what they are using (cryptodd.dll) so that’s… something.
Just messed around for a while, a few impressions:
-Seems to run better than the GFWL, from a hardware perspective; I used to have to turn the backgrounds off when playing online matches, because it seemed to add to online lag for whatever reason. The benchmark would be 120fps or whatever, but the online matches would be worse. After playing the Steam version, there didn’t seem to be much difference between running on legit settings or janky settings as far as online matches go.
-Looks like all of my settings/colors etc have been saved, other than my button mapping. (edit: not counting DLC, I mean other game settings/data)
-Online matches seem a little better as far as lag goes, but I don’t know what pool of people I’m pulling from; everyone been’s saying they’re only getting local matches, which would explain why the online play seems better. If it were using the same range of players as the GFWL version, it might be exactly the same as that, or worse. I suppose time will tell.
I just payed 63 games and not a single game had even the slightest hiccup of lag. Of course you have that unavoidable online delay, but it was 110% playable. This was from me in the UK to Sweden and Spain.
I acknowledge all the problems with this port, but to me, being able to call myself SPELLMASTER GAY one match and SUGIYAMA NEGRO the next, is worth all the bugs in the world
because these days companies don’t want you to have full control over the product you own.
they want their merchandise to remain their property even after your purchase of said product.
i’ll give you an example.
T-Mobile and Metropcs sent a couple months ago a android “update” to all of their droid phones. All of them.
All across the usa.
Regardless of region, phone brand, os version.
What did the “update” do?
one thing.
Seal up the 2 Cydia paths that rooting apps like SuperSU used to give a user root access.
Upon looking at the update’s binary code, the update did absolutely nothing else but block root access to any of T-Mobile/Metropcs phones that didn’t have root access before the update.
if you do NOT have full control over a product…you don’t own the product.
You are just renting the product.
Its why no one truly owns a smartphone.
The only people that truly own their smartphone are people in Europe who happen to own phones which have Sailfish os installed.
Since sailfish is a true 100% open source os, that makes every Sailfish user the owner of their phone.
The rest of us are just fooling ourselves in declaring the phones in our pockets are our property when we are just carrying “leased” phones.
So Capcom just wants you to fork over 20+ bucks to “rent” their game.
welcome to 2014 corporate business practices you bitches.
you must be very lucky, go take a look at the steam Sf4 forum and see for yourself how much peoples are complaining about the lag, i played 20~ ranked matchs just now , only 1 was unplayable, but its not consistent , also endless have way more problems than ranked , even the freaking menu lags if you take a closer look at the little animations
This. This and this. I like the steam version. Just make it so that i can message those who i play against and mute the mic. I will be satisfited then.
who should we contact to get the modding situation looked at? they may have just done it without realizing the implications, may not be a concious “F U” to the modding community.
I had the Indestructible theme prior to the update and it transferred over as well without issues.
also tried a few mods like Chun-li realistic leg and Alt3 SFA costume with better body proportion and it worked fine.
havent tried any stage mods though.
