yes, GFWL version had problems when you played against players from far away countries.
Only Blazblue Calamitty Trigger allowed smooth gameplay with players from other continents.
I had the PC version and crossplayed with Xbox players from Latin America, North America and Japan
Still even on good connections GFWL had a slight input delay. Steam version of SFAE2014 had no such thing in good connections. But it is also due to the fact that game runs much smoother on PC than on Xbox and PS3, so that helps
Though I woundt mind if they synchronised at the start of every round instead of in-game.
Ranked matches were a risk in GFWL too. With such good connection, online tactics will be less likely to work. At least Steam will not allow cheaters to roam free like in GFWL.

Same thing after one left the session just after char select, black screen with opponent left message for 15 minits…
And 15 minits only cause I ended the game thread myself…
I truly believe this is the problem. I have great connection and a killer PC. My first few games are smooth as butter but gradually as the games continue, the game becomes laggy.
Keep in mind that I mostly play endless 2 player lobby. Just finished going 10+ rounds with the same person, all green bars. Somewhere between the 9th and 10th round the game slowed down to the point where it felt as if we were playing under water. I immediately thought of this thread. Capcom needs to address this issue ASAP. As an avid online player, I need consistency. I take my time and choose my games wisely to insure optimal connection. I know which regions to play and which not to. It annoys me to no end to know that the efforts I make to create a smooth gaming experience are in vain. I’ve never had to consider connection degradation when playing (regardless of connection quality), and I don’t plan on starting now. The pc version as is, IS BROKEN. If a solution isn’t found, I’m asking Capcom for a full refund.
I messed around with a few settings to get the game running better and more accurate.
First I had to turn off v-sync on my video drivers. The reason for this is that it was buffering inputs for seconds it seemed like. I would randomly throw out dp’s and tatsus. Really annoying
So then i turned it on in game. The ingame version isnt as aggressive? I feel like im missing frames or the the game is running faster than 60 fps. Something is off is all i know. I then i had a thought that i need to figure out a way to lower my fps to get it around 60. I then started turning up graphics settings in an effort to get as close to 60 fps.
Well, it seems like my idea has worked for me. I say this because my freeze animations are not choppy or skip as if I was missing frames displayed during start up ultra animations.
Try it out and tell us how it goes.

just today right, I was playing this Guile.
so I’m using Juri right, with U1.
so I do a knockdown. I’m right next to him on his knockdown. in the corner, right side of the stage. I attempt to activate U1 which is qcfx2+PPP…i do the ultra motions…lag spike. Ultra activation doesn’t occur.
everything is frozen.
like frozen frozen.
like 10 seconds frozen.
so I start tapping backdash, double tap backwards perpetually to give me space between me and my opponent cause I don’t know if he will take advantage of the lag or not. whatever, anyway…
nothing happens.
finally movement starts coming back.
my Juri starts registering my many backdash inputs.
the Guile starts spamming crouching jab.
my Juri backdashes backdashes backdashes backdashes…all the way back to the other side of the screen.
we both regain full control. lag spike over. I move back n forth a little in that footsie motion.
keep in mind I’m not hitting any buttons.
I start walking forward.
all of a sudden.
My Juri from outta nowhere does Ultra 1 activation!
I practically fell out my chair.
I was like “Loooooooooooooooooooooooool! How…da fuck…did Ultra come out!!! I did Ultra motions loooong before the backdashes! Ultra came out after all those double tap back motions!!! Da fuck”

I just noticed something just now.
I was looking at some of the leaderboards on pc.
all of the top bp and pp people are European.
of the top bp for most characters, they are mostly European. ranging from 7k bp to 10k bp.
while America and Asia are all stuck in the 5k bp mark for most characters with little to no advancement.
seems like Europe is the least affected by this lag.
played Ranked for 2 hourse yesterday with a friend ( who only play on xbox ) we were going back and forth to get some pp and to show him how laggy ranked on pc is, and how good it is when it dosnt lag
we played like 40-50 matchs i think ? less than half had lag problems, and when it did it was ovbious, mostly low pp players who probably are downloading or streaming or whatever
we also faced the n1 Fuerte on PC, he’s french and i usually never have lag with french players, but he had that lag swicher type …
i think i cursed enough to go to hell 10 time for all existing religions
