Yeah all of your pp/bp carries over, when you start up AE on PC for the first time in the Steam transfer over it asks if you want to download your GFWL profile information. Though it’s not like it really matters since Ultra is resetting it.
I couldn’t get Steam to use the stats from my second account, so if you have multiple accounts, be wary of that

That one guy a few post above is right… No more rage messages from people, and no more speaking your mind and letting them know how bad they are when they think they’re actually good… You need to add them on steam first, just to message them… O_O
that’s good, but i still prefer some sort of quick messaging feature to say gg or something. I don’t think it would be too difficult to add a text chat feature that works before, during, and after battles
I hate how there’s no way to disable your own mic.
Having a terrible connection with someone who I play with regularly with no issues at all (on PC). Maybe it’s the mic always being on but regardless this is a pretty horrible situation atm.
Tested some 1-frame combos with Vsync on and I could do them!
I think they’ve finally fixed the Vsync issue… it only took them 3 years.
so…looks like we can barely mod anything with this…

They’ve intentionally locked up the gameplay modding entirely. All .bac/.bcm files are verified with a key modifying them at all the game wont load them and hangs during stage load.
There is literally NO reason for this other than spite. Gameplay modding couldn’t be used online unless both players had the same mod otherwise it de-syncs. Gameplay modding couldn’t lead to piracy as it was simply modifying character files and you couldn’t add new stuff like the ultra characters or W-Ultra mechanics.
Let’s put out a check list of what Capcom has done recently to the PC community that is negative:
- SFxT DLC never finished being released. (Still missing gems/colors/costumes.)
- SFxT balance update was almost a year behind the console version at one point for PC.
- No other GFWL games have been announced to be ported to Steamworks (likely only reason they even do AE2012 was because they were bringing ultra over and they just updated AE2012 to have the base system changes needed for Ultra. Hence all of the references to USF4 character files and such.)
- Unfixed bugs for AE2012 previously fixed, didn’t do any sort of beta test to take advantage of the steam features that even newcomers to Steam such as SNK Playmore did.
- Forced people who rightfully purchased the DLC that they had already purchased once to rebuy it after the transfer because they refused to instead do a limited time free DLC offer for everyone for like 1month since they couldn’t verify who had bought DLC or not.
- Charge people more for the SF4 Complete Pack than buying SF4 + All Costumes separately despite being notified about this issue they still haven’t fixed it.
- Intentionally lock out their biggest fans of the game (modders) for no reason.
- Release the update to Steamworks for SF4 right before the weekend thus preventing fixing it for several days and likely will get distracted by the release of USF4 on tuesday.
It’s like Capcom is TRYING to demolish the relationship with the PC community that they built up over the last couple of years. I almost miss Svennson

I think Capcom just really fucking hates letting people look at SF internals for some reason. That and making people wait a few days before their frame data app$ gets leaked.
I updated today and tried some games. The announcer bug was annoying the hell out of me. Connections were generally worse. Bad enough that I’ll just wait for Ultra to drop on 360.
Just got done playing a set with some random guy named “Connection Test”. The game was very smooth, almost too smooth if that makes any sense. There was literally no input lag. The only thing I did not like was that it would have been too much to message that player. It deserved a GG, so “Connection Test”, if you are out there, GG’s.
I think the messaging/players list is what I’m gonna miss the most about GFWL. That and it’s getting a bit tedious to mute everyone you run into…and the announcer is all whacky sometimes as well.
The thing is they didn’t hide the files or prevent LOOKING at them. You can still open up any .bac file no problem. You can view everything, you can even modify it and save it. But the game wont load them anymore.
All they did was remove the ability to MOD the files not examine them.
I do agree though about the ultra thing. I don’t have a PS3 or 360 but I’m seriously questioning upgrading to ultra at all given the handling of this transfer to steamworks being so bungled and intentionally anti-modder.
Just tried to play online for the first time since I transferred everything. Couldn’t find any ranked or endless games. This never happened before on gfwl, wtf is going on now?
I find plenty of games. The connections are just way more inconsistent. It really sucks right now.
The game runs better without gfwl.
It sucks that they didnt pay attention to the details. Its capcom though.
I can deefinately say that I am able to punish moves that i didnt know you could before, hitting combos easier, reacting and hitting anti air dp’s with no problem.
Went on again just now and still couldn’t get a single game of ranked or endless. Something is definitely wrong here but I have no idea what. This never happened on gfwl but as soon as I transferred everything I can’t find a single game. I’m thinking my settings are all screwed up or something now cause of steam? No clue.
