Ah I see what you’re saying. I mean yeah it’s not ideal but the alternative is 50ft of extra ethernet cable around the house since the bozo at&t did a bizarre install essentially keeping everything in another part of the house.
at 60 frames a second, each frame is 16ms, so an extra -1 or -2ms isn’t that bad. I only slideshow for a few seconds every 3 or 4 matches
Yeah my experience has been pretty good since PC launch, i mastered the lobby system to a science. If you search, then the lobbies and bars start blinking, and a no bars connection stops blinking/pops up first, get your ass in that lobby, it’s most likely a hidden green bar lobby, as dumb as that sounds. never believe a green bar that blinks a ton, and ends up being the last one to stop blinking.
It’s crazy that you guys talk about problems EVEN offline, never have slow downs ever.

V-Sync off ( i don’t even have V Sync turned on through my graphics card panel either, and still rarely get screen tears, weird)

it does sometimes freez in training mode even when fight request is off because it continue to receives network communication for whatever reasons, the timing is very different than GFWL you have to get used to it, i also though it was droping frames and lagging at first, but then after hours i got used it, its actually the same timing as the Xbox version, a bit laggy, GFWL had less input lag , even with Vsync
@Darksamus can you ask wbacon if they could implement region change like in GFWL, limiting players by IP is really bad, cant find decent games in my region at all
Already had a chat with him about exactly that. (although, being from Australia I don’t have that problem)
Reply was that the requests for region change and showing strength via “Ping” has been passed on but that is no promise it will be included.
So basically the dev team know that changes are wanted but we are not guaranteed changes to the current system.
the thing is that none of the other platform have this limitation, you can change your region in Xbox, PS3, and gfwl … i dont see reason why they did that, in game flag should be determined by our steam profile flag, it really divide players pool
This is probably one of the most sane things I’ve seen posted in this thread. Seriously guys, setting up ports is pretty important for gaming online, especially on PC. This means setting a static IP to your PC so the ports don’t get forwarded to another IP.
Disalbe UPnP because it isn’t always perfect. Just do it manually. Everyone will be happier and less people will be killed from lag rage.
Also, VSYNC doesn’t create additional lag. It simply keeps the input timing consistent. The game is meant to be played with VSYNC so that a move that has 5 frames of start up always has 5 frames of start up and not 3 or so because of frames being torn and not rendered all the way. Keep that shit on and stop perpetuating the myth that vsync is lagging the game.
let me ask you guys something…everytime i turn on vsync and leave the options menu it still says off when i head back in…is anyone else having the same problem?
probably have to hit the right button to save your changes. It took me 5 or 10 minutes more than it should have to figure out how to do that in this game
