worst online experience ever today on ssf4 with steam…
way to go capcom, I will not buy the game when it goes out if the network is the same. that it just horrible.
steam version make gfw version looks like it was perfect.

I really wanna get it as soon as it drops cuz I can get Juri, Adon, Guy, Ibuki, and Vega to B+ rank easy the first couple of months since that’s when you farm your points. Cuz after the first couple months many people drop the game, less heads, and its just harder to farm dem points.

cuz if i do I just know i’ll be spiking my stick like Sanford from losing to scrubs cuz of so much damn inconsistent lag.

last night I tried to play for a lil bit.
my juri is a 8000+ ranked #15th in all of North America Juri and I have over 2600pp and I was in ranked, went up against a random scrubby D rank Dudley…lost the 1st round due to lag. 2nd round beasted cuz of no lag.

“waiting for other players” constant pop ups.
My Juri just stands there.
Fucking scrub thinks he’s gonna be slick and steal my points and proceeds to spam standing fierce over.

saw her get dizzied from him spamming one single button…and that’s when I turned the game off so he doesn’t get my points.

I already mentioned I’ve been optimized my pc, game settings, and router for this one single soul devouring game.

i dont know why you even bother to play ranked, i did that the first week of steam transitions to get to the 2k range, then just stopped, its just not worth it losing against lag
what i usually do now and it work really good for me, i go to endless and try to find good players, as soon as i find one i add him , i managed to get enough peoples to not even wait anymore when i go online and play, they are all good players and have decent internet
no more rage from random laggy scrubs, i also pre ordered ultra since i find out that ther’s a very small scene in my country, so even if online sucks, i can practice… they all told me to buy that xbox360 obsolet piece of shit, but ther’s no way am doing it, not even for my favorite game if i have the option on PC , despit the shitty online
we could also create an SRK steam groupe, so at least you can be sure that peoples there have decent internet and dont watch porn while playing

And a Steam group would likely be more efficient than the Looking for Players thread. I’ve had about enough of rolling around as Dudley in ranked and losing/ winning at random with Evil Ryu.

Fill in your PC’s IP adress as such and your router is virtually nothing but an ethernet cable extension for that one computer.
Edit: And by IP adress, I mean internal IP adress in the router’s subnet.

I got to play Ultra on Xbox this week as I do not own a console anymore and the online was just as bad as PC. Waiting for players galore. It still does not bode well for Ultra PC. This was not even using my internet connection and mine works great for any other game.

lag/freezes is not from closed ports

If your ISP does the routing work for you (which is more than likely true), no. However, there are a couple of drawbacks:
- You can’t use wireless with bridge mode on, so this isn’t a good idea if you’re sharing wi-fi with somebody.
- As far as I know, a factory reset is required to get out of bridge mode (at least for my router).
^ this, if you CAN connect to peoples and have some good games sometimes, you dont need to do anything to your router 90% chances are that its coming from other player bad internet/router/wifi/PC spec
if you CANT get any decent games at all, then you should look for portforwarding/bridged mode
yeah, i played today with people in Europe
game is usually great with Germans and Nordics
there’s some random slowdowns/freezes, but not very often. game definitely feels weirder than GFWL felt
i guess it depends on how your opponent’s game is configured and what programs he runs outside the game
i played against a Spanish guy earlier, i swear it was like offline, it was godlike, but ofc its not the case for everyone, i also experienced random slight slowdown with another french player but it was very playable
That sounds like they’re talking about DMZ though. There is a difference between DMZ and DMZ host. And DMZ host does work - afterall, I AM using that setting on my router. And let me assure you, I can play on Steam. Wouldn’t even mention it otherwise.
As I said, all it does is it forwards all ports to your PC and stops screwing with NAT, it simply doesn’t check any of the traffic targeted towards the specified IP adress. Nothing else. The router still works as a DHCP server, the wifi still works. It just doesn’t fuck with the network traffic (for 1 PC only, keep in mind, rest are still managed normally).
It’s another valid alternative to bridged mode. And it’s just as easy. You just type down a single IP adress in your Router’s config and reserve it for the PC’s MAC adress (so it stops leasing the IP adress temporarily, to prevent it from expiring). That’s it.
i see, i might even try that myself since not having access to Wifi while in bridged is a bit annoying
