Geo fencing no longer enforced in matchmaking query. Setting to [ANY] will query matches without any restriction. Setting to [SAME] will limit search to the same country based on the player's geo-location. (better ping)
Added voice chat mute option within the in-game menu.
Setting the BGM to 0 will now mute the music completely.
11th and 12th costume colors from vanilla SFIV is now unlocked for everyone.
Removed recurring prompt and need to install the redistributable.
Removed GFWL client install prompt.
Country flag placeholder will now display the neutral grey SSFIVAE logo instead of the Ultra SFIV logo.
This latest patch causes my bandwidth to enabled continuous uploading every time I log into Ranked or Endless mode. So, I can’t have online matches when this is happening, which causes lag. When I exit these modes, the uploading stops.
The patch was a bug fix at best, and there as been nothing done about the input lag or server lag (I know they already said they didn’t change it in the notes). I can’t believe they screwed up so badly. I’ve watched 20K bison’s miss cr.LK, cr.LK, Link cr.LK xx LK Scissor Kick links multiple times in a row. In practice and pre-steam version online I could do Oni’s cr.LK cr.LP b.MP HP xx lt slash loop up to 40 without dropping it, now online I struggle to even link the normals into his target combo constantly, nevermind loop it.
Don’t even try to play it until this lag is fixed, it’ll just make you rage.
i cant believe they actually made things even worse since the patch, i couldnt even have 1 decent none laggy game today, and the game started to randomly freez
Could be??? If it was change notes I would expect them to change the wording for the general person.
Edit: I give up folks. I’m just going to grind and come out of retirement. Time to get a console. That or wait for USF. But I always said I don’t think Capcom likes the fact we mod the game and they still think we pirated their game out the wazoo. I had a magic experience today on Steam. I connected to a player, we selected characters and during the stage selection screen the connection was somehow lost.
I then connected to totally different player, we selected characters and he chose a stage. Then I was somehow teleported to the previous player with the character he had selected. He seemed to be as shocked as me.
ok i just noticed something really weird, when i erased my GFWL imported data and used my new data from scratch , the game was laggin way less then before, looks like the data are causing some of the lag, i have no idea why
game reset my PP and BP after winning a ranked game lol. also the menus get hitched up for a few seconds randomly. it really doesn’t matter anymore, this game is basically dead on PC until ultra comes out anyway. i found like 2 people with 2k+ PP in two hours of playing.
Lag has been getting worse for me. I get a huge lag spike in every match I play now. It would happen ramdomly during a match and I’m unable to move after it happens
I dislike the region change as it is not much better than the previous abomination. Now I still find no one in “same” for Canada or I find the entire world in “Any”. There is no middle ground.
I’ve done some tests with a friend of mine, and now I’m pretty sure the reason behind the horrible lag on the steam version is due to PC settings.
My friend and I live in the same region, we didn’t have connection issues on GFWL. After the steam update we couldn’t play any match without the “waiting for opponent” appearing every 5-10 seconds.
Some time ago, some dude found out that the PC version has some problems regarding vsync. Some moves won’t work in some situations (for example, if Bison does a point-blank psycho crusher ex on Vega, he can’t punish it with a reversal ex barcelona) and the way to solve it was to force vsync on your video card settings for SF4.
After asking my friend to force vsync on SF4, so he would get stable 60FPS, our connections problems dropped significantly.
Our connection bars oscillate between 1 red bar to yellow bar, but our games are normal. We get about 1 “Waiting for Opponent” message every 10 matches on Endless now.
