Yeah i think that’s what i’ll have to do, but id hate adding extra code to a script thats already running slow. I’m not familiar with other blender formats, i think it has .3ds and .dae. SMD export/import itself is just a plugin i had to download.
I hope people can convert the smd to and back from whatever file format they are used to using as you plan to. But one of two things need to be remain unchanged throughout your conversions: either bone order or bone names. I think i’m gonna make it so it has to be bone names.
3DS Max doesn’t support SSFIVAE files…or the DDS files… or the EMM files… I’m getting Maya now, if nothing works on it either, i’ll be as pissed as a gradeschooler who skipped naptime and didnt get his cookie.
But seriously…
No comments about my Koto Spats? I named them especially to make people laugh, but I’ve not heard a damn thing. I also thought them visually pleasing, albeit simple. “Knuckle Deep” has make-up too. I’m still tired and cranky… sorry. Still… all these other ones get attention, and, they’re all uuber over the top.
Yes it does support those file formats. You need to load your textures dds under materials or you can convert it to a png or jpg and convert it back to dds
When using piecemonteeSF4explorerV0.37b right click your mouse and export the mesh as obj , example ryu.obj .Then open and use misfit model and save the meshs then use 3ds max. 3Ds Max Tutorial - 15 - Material Editor
There are 10 characters in that fix that do not have any *.light.emz files.
They are the characters that do not use energy or projectile based attacks.
So its because Adon has no energy or projectile attacks that he doesn’t need a fix.
None of them do. You have to export parts of the character’s model one by one as .obj using piecemontee’s tool and import it to Maya. By the way, use Maya 2011 if you’re going to go for it (it’s what I’m using right now). Then you can just message me if you need help.
I see. I think I found myself a .smd plug-in for Maya 2011. I don’t know if it works though. By the way, what are your system specs? If you’re using mid-range then I guess it’s really the script that’s slow. Anyway, long loading times or not we’ll be thankful for a script that just works. Besides, we can do all testing phases in a 3D application before actually converting it for the game.
I would like to have japanese subtitles or no subtitles at all during character speeches (on an english based installation of course), but I suppose that a simple file swap won’t do the trick. Does anyone know how to do it ?
Yes, but the files you need to swap are all over the place.
The subtitles for the opening movies are in \Capcom\Super Street Fighter IV\movie, the subtitles for the rival cutscenes and pre-battle taunts are in \resource\battle\hud for the ssfiv characters and \dlc\03_character_free\battle\hud for the new Arcade Edition characters, there’s some stuff in the /patch/ folders and I don’t even know where the win quotes are.
In each case, you’ll have to rename the JPN folders to ENG to get the Japanese subtitles.
