Got Maya 2012. Got the object in question open… now I just gotta figure out how to:
A. Put the texture onto the model. and B. Edit the texture once it’s on the model.
I heard that you could paint straight on the model… and like said case, I would like to do this.
Pre Oni 1.1
This is a serious update for Pre Oni with VFX in this pack.In my fiction,Shin Akuma will become fire Oni first(the most common and weakest of Oni type) so I give him fire HDk,it is a mix of purple and red hadoken and red shoryuken and of course the red aura.You can note that there is still blue aura and the color of other special moves doesn’t change color because he is still have big evolution to overpass and that shows the sign of becoming thunder Oni.Taking advice from somebody,I also make the red color like Fire Oni for second color.The most notable effect change are the 2 ultra combos,you can see it on the picture.
I also remove the filter and and the annoying belt,the only problem is the robe,i don’t have solution to solve it yet
Still hope you enjoy it

Hmmm… I don’t know what’s changed with 2012 but it’s pretty much the same I guess.
Hold the right mouse button on any part of the model you want to assign a material to then release the button over assign new material… and choose lambert or phong or whatever (lambert is the easiest to see).
A window should pop out from the right side showing the material attributes. Click the checkered box on the right side of the color slider and choose file.
It’s self explanatory after that. You can see an image name text box with a folder on the right side. Click the folder and assign your .png texture.
By the way, you should just PM me with these things. I think I’m the only other Maya user here and we can’t be flooding the thread with unrelated Maya tutorials.
Maya has it’s own “maya ascii” (*.ma) format it can use to import/export files. You might want to look at that if you don’t want to use the .3ds format.
If I want to use one of your simple stages to replace a different stage, like the volcano one, do I have to hex edit or will just a file rename work?
Thanks!
@dhoushi
good work! congrats on finishing them all.
@Ellipsen
For the light effect thing, someone mentioned in the other thread that you need both emz and emb, even if they’re the same file, so a copy is necessary. For the stage replacements, I believe it’s a hex+rename situation.
