just got home from work so couldnt post this earlier:
I want to thank Aliete personally for quickly making my requests for zombie Makoto and Adon. And i want to thank everyone in general making skins… after trying myself and failing completly (mainly from a complete lack of photoshop or gimp skills, its quite sad) you guys have no idea how much I (and im sure others) apreciate your work. Im seriously having as much fun trying out new skins as i am playing the game (maybe because i never had vanilla on pc so this whole scene is new to me).
So again, huge thanks for everyone working hard on these skins, i look forward to this thread every day.
I hope the new one is easier to read/understand.
I tried to focus less on the “why” and more on the “how”.
1st tutorial is a mess, I was kinda discovering while writing it, so there’s plenty of useless stuff that just help understand the way the files work.
I’m not sure it will fit well, the pants from the outfit #2 are going a bit too high over her belt.
Hmmm. Is that an animation incompatibility with her breasts? Or just vertex normal/shading? It’s difficult to judge without seeing it in action. Have you tried including her apron? I think that belly gap can be fixed with a little model editing and I’m willing to try. The breast problem can probably be hidden with the apron.
If you can include the apron, I’ll be waiting for it. Thanks.
EDIT: Maybe, it’ll work better when you use the farmer costume as the main and just replace the baggy pants with the school girl legs.
So you’re saying that if you use the farmer costume as the main model and switch the legs from the school girl costume, the legs will be too high? Or maybe animate really badly?
I think the hole around her belly can be fixed with model editing as long as it doesn’t move around that much. With the image he provided, the belt can also be used to cover it up a little. The only real issue is with the breasts.
EDIT: The only problem is really the breasts animating badly. The apron can also be tweaked to cover that hole.
Thanks. If you solve the boob issue, I really want to try fixing that hole with the help of the belt or the apron (better to experiment with both). Please share it with me. Well, I’ll check back later.
More tries at model swapping/combining, got a little further. Then I reached “Let’s do some math in hexadecimal:” and just kinda giggled to myself and went into a trance for a while. I can do the math with hex calculator but that’s just the point where I start to slowly lose the plot.
I’ll keep trying, really really appreciate your continued efforts sensi, and definitely finding the new tutorial a lot easier to follow. Once I overcome my own stupidity this stuff should be pretty awesome to play around with.
Thanks again!
Edit: The peoples messing with trying to patch together a full body Makoto - Potentially you could get the missing hips from the Gi model, piss around with alpha on both legs, and end up with bare feet + hips intact(?) Between the two alternate models you have all the parts there least for the lower half.
