Is the PS4 version slower than the 360 version? It feels a lot different
Switching between modes and options still freezes from times to time. It hasn’t been completely fixed yet.
PS4 is same speed as arcade and faster than PS3. 360 is slightly faster (1 frame?) than arcade.
The speed feels fine but a lot of the stages cause network lag online from what I have seen.
There is some bad performance when navigating through the menus (freezing and lagged input).
I honestly think its people streaming Pandora and Spotify while playing on wireless on top of playing on these really unoptimized stages which is causing all the problems.
I still love how consumers blame other consumers instead of the companies shipping shitty ports.
Just wow…
You guys are seriously retarded.
I’m not normally one to complain but this port is fucking awful. It’s actually a bit of a disgrace they haven’t done more to fix it. Right now it’s kinda like hands in ears “SF5 lalala” like they have no clue how bad it is.
I recently noticed input drops are another thing that’s even worse than on PS3. I’ve been doing Guile’s cr,lp, cr.mp link for 7 years and it’s stupid easy to do now due to Guile’s jab being buffed. I played a set online and missed this link around 10 times in a row as my mp just decided to not come out at all. If it did, too slow. Then all of a sudden I couldn’t even throw a sonic boom. My opponent had a ton of player points and was hitting 1 framers like they were going out of style, but its not like i was intimidated into execution errors. I’m sorry but even playing Daigo wouldn’t result in me missing that link 10 times in a row, there’s just some really weird shit going on in this port.
I get the feeling that something like the red focus macro glitch would take about 5 mins of their time to fix (For those that don’t know - if you use one button red focus, it won’t work every time you turn the game on. To get it to work, you have to set your buttons in training mode). This was already fixed on the PS3. Maybe the stage lag is a lot harder to fix, but at least make the player base aware that it’s a known issue that is being worked on. I will be going back to the PS3 version when I have my console back.
I was watching a stream a couple weeks back and the announcer mentioned a difference in move properties with Zangeif between the PS4 version and all other versions (don’t remember what) is there a list anywhere with all the differences? We just swiched ultra to PS4 at the Walraven Weekly Detroit and would like to have these changes for the players who are still playing on Xbox360 at home.
I’m not sure which converter he was using Monday, but Skeeter Lethal was using a Xbox360 stick on the ps4 but after ten minutes or so he would have to unplug it and plug it back in
I had this happen yesterday, the ds4 was on the bed and was accidentally resting on the trigger when you hold a button down on the pad the same button on the stick won’t work
Is anybody getting lost connection to host? I mean like a lot? I get this shit every 10 minutes or so and the person is still there hosting after I search for matches.
Another thing I really despise about this game that’s not a new thing but seems to be even worse on the PS4 version than usual =
I absolutely hate it when you are in a match that has variable lag, you are out playing your opponent etc, then certain players all attempt a tactic - try anything it takes to get a throw. Literally everything else goes out the window. They know it’s laggy, so chances are you won’t always tech it (even though you know it’s coming and try to). This is something that didn’t exist in SFxT and doesn’t exist in SF5 either.
They’ll try a billion jumps/air tastu’s/whatever in a row until that one time your anti air doesn’t work due to the lag, put you into hit/block stun, then throw. If it’s laggy, good luck teching without literally mashing throw. Then you’re stuck in vortex->death. Oh and if they have two bars, this whole thing becomes a mixup between mashing tech and getting FADC/Ultra’d for your troubles, or accepting you have to eat the throw, which then leads to vortex->death. You can’t attempt to delay tech like you can offline or you’ll get thrown every time.
My other personal favourite is players who take advantage of their characters fast walk speed in order to do use dash throw or focus dash throw to achieve the same thing. Again, you know they are going to do it, but the latency doesn’t allow you to react to it. Even when you think you’ve teched correctly it really only works some of the time.
People can tell me these are legitimate mixups all they want, but anyone who really knows what I’m talking about will tell you it wouldn’t work anywhere close to as well offline. Because the lag is variable, sometimes the tech has a certain timing, other times it’s faster, others slower. Also, anti airs work exactly the same every time offline. It’s almost as if some players have consistently bad connections to the point that they’ve mastered playing the laggy version of SF4 - a completely different version of the game to the one you or I play. They are the ones most likely to argue that SF4’s netcode is way better than what we’ve had for SFxT and SF5.
With the latest update adding communities, anybody here made a community themselves or know of an official SRK one?
Anyone know if you can use those tekken/street fighter pads with this game?
I think the SRK N. Moderator made some, Here’s his Tweet:

I’m not sure if it’s an issue that you guys have experienced but I get a lot of grey bars on my PS4 even though I have a decent connection. Does anyone here know why that might possibly be happening?
I’ve really tried a lot of stuff, opening ports and stuff like that. Still, if I find 6 people in Ranked Match, 5 of those will have grey bars =/
I just think it’s a missed detail by the developers. Most of the time for me if a connection is gray or any other color RIGHT AWAY after I’ve searched, it’s playable. If it keeps flashing green/gray then it’s probably having a hard time reading the connection.
Granted there are always exceptions to the rule but this is how I’ve been doing things. For me the good connections are REALLY good, and the bad are really bad, but not too much worse than shitty connections on anything else.
Couldnt agree with you more.
I vsed a guy with 4k PP and all he did was attempt to tick throw me… once I started zoning him out I shut his whole gameplan down. Its really disgusting how bad players on PS4 are. The ranking system gives the impression that they are skilled which is what I dislike the most.
Id be happy if it just didn’t lag as bad as it does. Unoptimized stages, being able to stream your gameplay, streaming music while playing all contribute to this shit being a mess online. When its not lagging it feels amazing, but this is so rare on the PS4 version.
Good to see the 1.06 patch did absolutely nothing to fix the stage lag.
Just lost to a player that was playing on the Dhalsim stage -
“Please switch to training stage. Training stage = much less lag”
“I know it’s much less laggy but it’s sooooo boring”
This is why I’m going back to the PS3 version the minute I get my console back.
I played today (on patch 1.06) and didn’t experience any lag whatsoever. Didn’t play on the laggiest of stages but I did play almost all yellow bar players and it felt smooth as ever.
This was really late night though so that could’ve been a factor. I was even playing spotify the whole time and felt no type of input, network or frame-loss lag.
The exaggeration about “laggy stages” is fucking pathetic.
