Yeah tried late last night with a Hori Pro 4 and jumps lagged noticeably from when I pressed up to jump. With Viper super jump cancels were really weird to do and seemed to take a completely different timing tried FFF->meterless FADC->Ultra 20 times on each of my systems and got PC(20/20), PS3(16/20), PS4(4/20). Started getting the timing at the end but it is noticeable for sure.
Seriously anyone who has played SFIV would notice it by just trying to jump. It was like playing in mediocre online which probably meant online warriors didn’t feel a big difference. Didn’t notice much of a difference with it set to PS3 or PS4 mode on my stick.
Sonic boom is hilariously fucked even if it isn’t 100% invisible NO way anyone play tested guile and didn’t notice that, graphics are fucked even if you don’t trigger it to be invisible.
Some of those things like Sagat cr. HP being cancellable and stuff don’t seem to be true.
Also noticed menu lag in training and when paused but nothing noticeable in the character select screen, other than the portraits seemed to lag behind the cursor a bit. Nothing like the videos I saw earlier. No way they fix this version in time for evo.
If you play Xbox you will feel 2.9 frames of lag, if you usually play on ps3 you will feel 1.6, if you have the best settings on PC you will feel 4.5 Lol. That being said the 8 frames number is total time from button press to execution on screen, the lag you feel will depend on what you normally play.
Am I the only one who can’t see USA’s replays in the replay channel? It tells me that I can’t see them with this version of the game. (European/French)
The commentator doesn’t say “Poison wins” online too.
Please note that these statements are from Capcom.
For those experiencing issues and wondering about a patch, we are aware that you are experiencing problems with the PS4 version of USFIV, which was published and developed by SCEA’s Third Party Production group. SCEA and Capcom are currently looking into the issues that some users may be experiencing and are working to resolve them as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide updates on our progress.
A lot of our more competitive players have wondered how the USFIV version of PS4 will affect them and the tour. To that we’d like to advise that the integrity of the Capcom Pro Tour is a top priority for us and we will continue to work with tournament organizers worldwide to ensure that the highest quality event will be run. Each region will maintain its current hardware standard for the remainder of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour until otherwise announced. We will keep you updated as to when the PS4 version of USFIV will be integrated into the Pro Tour.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay tuned for future information*
The worst part is that this seems like an engine issue since literally everything is affected, I doubt it can even be fixed with a patch, it’s just a overall bad port. :’(
They just had to port it…shakes head not a smart move capcom. Good thing I didn’t buy it. Just waiting on number 5. Ultra was done before it even began…
I just recorded 40 tests of ryu’s s.lk on my galaxy note 2 camera at 60fps. It averaged out to 6.275 frames of input lag on my PS4 TE2 stick. I’m going to do another test later recording at 120fps and do 100 tests.
I knew it wasn’t 8f of lag. This initial test says it’s closer to 6f, which is what it felt like.
EDIT: BTW, I’m using an EVO monitor that was bodnar tested to 10ms of input lag. So I think it’s 5f of input lag on PS4
It’s patchable. I don’t even have to look, it is really hard to have something that isn’t patchable this gen. It could be a very large patch though. I don’t think I’ve seen a scenario like this on a console, but in the worst case, they could upload the fixed game in it’s entirity for download, delist the old one from the store, then provide access codes to those who send in a proof of purchase. (yeah this screws offline owners, they’d get creative.) Who knows how long the patch will take to come.
The input lag on PS3 was not something they could patch. Well, they could…but that costs more money and time than Capcom was willing to give (they would have to figure out how to get more from the PS3.) The PS4 obviously has more to work with. It seems pretty likely that they fucked up somewhere. Optimization is definitely not an easy job, but…if you’re getting paid for it, you gotta put out.
The PS3 stick lag on PS4 will probably not be fixed unless someone can figure out how to write a better driver for the PS4. Consumer generally gets shit on, more news at 11.
Patches aren’t always simple. Just think of all the stuff you’ve gotten through Windows Update (or whatever you use to update your OS.)
Capcom have already gone out and said what they needed to say. But when will Sony get out and tell people what they are doing to fix this mess that happened under their watch? Kind of expect something before the weekend. Might as well get their message out before Evo pulls the game on their own.
Sony need Come out, say the game isnt what they wanted, say it wont be at Evo and they will work on making it right.
