I definitely think you need to video some of your matches Higashi. Something doesn’t sound right and I think we coould all help you a million times better if we can see you in action.
Post your vids in the video thread and let the learning experience begin!!!
Higashi, if he jumps back and forth, why don’t you just AA him all the way to the corner? If you stay grounded with a solid ground game and just AA him all day long, that prevents his focus into U2.
I have a question about Fuerte’s slide. I usually don’t run into a lot of Fuerte’s online, but I just played one that I was doing quite well against until he started using slides against me to stuff out all of my wake up options. I couldn’t block or dp out of it or anything. It really started getting under my skin after the 5th time he landed it. Even FA didn’t work. Is it just that good of a meaty attack or something?
youre not alone man i fall for that shit. Im gonna start uppercutting these motherfkers for that. another thing i notice im getting hit by alot is focus attacks on the ground. they stand just far enough to where if i try to attack or move in with step kick, it catches me.
that’s when you need to switch your game up, you should do something to beat there focus or get in on them without using pokes so that they have to deal with you up close.
FYI my tip to beat anti-air focuses isn’t infallible. Certain characters’ backdash is just too good, chun li, rose and dudley come to mind. That and if they backdash right as the jump in is absorbed and you’re too high they can get away.
Or Sagat’s focus for example, he’s so tall when you land you just get hit by his focus. I’m sure some of you jumped into a focus and tried blocking but still got hit by it. So keep these things in mind.
Well vs vega I got some things tat may help. That knee thing he does(st cl and far short) is safe so no pressing buttons there unless he just keeps doin it. Then throw a dp sometimes to keep him honest.
The overhead and that cosmic heel thing is punishable on blk but its a -4. So if I’m on point tat day I punish with cr jab st jab cr fwd etc, but if I’m not executing well, I mash the shit out of fierce dp after blk.
One thing Vegas seem to LOVE to do is overhead to grab or cr short. If u blk overhead u can punish but if not a late cr tech is best bet.
Nvr dp on wakeup when they do wall dive imo b/c vega can make it whiff sometimes.
On Vegas wakeup os ing a crshort to stepkick helps vs that flip thing he does…it mite be a bit hard to get the os but I do that os with Abel all the time so it’s doable…in hindsight I may have just been doing the stepkick on reaction…
Either way hope that helps…but tbh I still have trouble vs vega regardless of character I play so if anyone else has some advice, much appreciated.
guys i need advice for fighting these character: Blanka, Guile, Sagat, DeeJay. They are my worst matchups and any advice is greatly appreciated. As for the rest of the roster, i am pretty confident in fighting them or at least being equal to them. i can help if you need it.
For the guy who needs help with Vega, you gotta mix him up all day. His crMP poke is probably the most annoying thing to keep you from rushing in with dash and step kick. If they are spamming it too much, throw out a lpDP for a knockdown and to make them afraid of spamming it. Its a gamble but can lead to a knockdown which is in favor of your mixup.
His backflips are really his only option to avoid the cross up, so if they do it a lot, just do a crossup lk than EX tatsu or if you’re feeling ballsy, dash up and you can DP him.
HIs wall dives arent too troublesome. Just do cHP unless its an EX dive, than just try to block or mpDP it.
And be VERY cautious go for a mixup when they have U2, try to bait it out, because it will either go half screen and get them away or autocorrect and hit you. GL
i have trouble vs blanka too man. i noticed though that some blankas like to dash foward and throw or some shit, but u can cr.medium punch that shit. for guile i have no clue lol, getting in on him is a pain the ass for me. for sagat, i got some advice on him while playing a very good one at one of my offline scenes, he said u gotta just be patient and throw some fireballs, u can match his fireballs. he also told me sagat has shitty wakeup options so play those footsies and try to knock him down. he basically said that when u get close, its where a sagat player starts doing stupid shit. deejay, dont jump in on him on his wakeup and bait those kicks he does. last time i checked deejay is a pretty easy match for ken. peace.
okay i just wanted a quick clarification. Why is it that it must be kara throw for such a setup? Does the kara throw actuallly put you in a different position? Thanks.
