It would be much appreciated Joutai if you could revamp the whole thing. If possible considering your schedule.
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I’m thinking of putting everything in Google docs for the match-ups. I’ve never done this before, so some feedback would be nice if you’d prefer these over just me using spoiler tags.</span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B8QbEhtHggFOQk5pbFU4WlRfc3c/edit?usp=sharing</span></font><br></div>
I do like it, easy to navigate and such. And it isn’t that different from the spoiler tag method either.<br>
I think whichever works for you if you are planning to take on this endeavor. I just think a lot of content can be centralized and a lot of info is kind of outdated.
I’ll say this about google docs. It def is easier to bookmark and access on the go.
One thing I’ll never have to worry about again is filling up the character limit per post. Thank you Google!
is there a compilation of safe jumps vs the cast somewhere? if not, they should possibly be included in the match up descriptions<br>
There is lots of information in the forum about safe jumps and unblockables but it might be quite a large undertaking to ask Joutai to route through them all to put into his documents. It’s certainly a good idea though…
What say you Joutai? Up to the challenge?
Peace,
G

I’m sure it’s a lot of work in general to do any of the stuff he does for the forum, i know the feeling<br><br>but i would say safe jumps more so than unblockables since there are compilation videos for unblockables where as with safe jumps, theyre all over the place and the majority of the cast isn’t covered which is a shame<br>

Something is confusing me in regards to Abel. He is only +1 after a cancel step kick and his tornado throw is 5 frames startup. That is a 4 frame gap. Our cr.LP should be able to hit him before the tornado throw. I set this up in training room and sometimes my cr.LP works sometimes not.
What gives?
It could be human error. If you’re using turbo, that isn’t completely consistent.
First post update:
-Match-Ups are all in the Google Docs/Drive.
-I’ll try to gather more info that wasn’t in the previous posts this weekend.
-I updated the rest of the post with BS until SRK gets their delete function back
Anyone have any match up advice on Evil Ryu? This match up feels much harder than Ryu. He has more range on his cr.MK, ambiguous cross ups do not work, he walks much faster and he also has a Kara throw.
Thanks for the google doc Joutai. I wonder if this has been done for other characters’ matchup guides…
Lagging behind on gathering more info. I’ll be on it soon, hopefully.
I feel like you have to fundamentally be better than the opponent with fireballs. Using them as pokes at the tip of E. Ryu’s cr.MK range as he’s walking forward trying to use it. His movement is too good to use cr.MK to play footsies with Ken’s cr.MK.
I would hope so, just in case SRK changes the whole structure again…and it’s convenient.
Any advice on the Yun matchup? Safe Jumps, specific punish, general tips?
I have an online tournament this weekend with a Yun in the first round and that’s my worst matchup
-There is a safejump video somewhere in this ken forum against cammy. It’s a good reference, I believe its by ImagineVC.
-Initially try empty jump for first safejump to see what the response is. Does he wake up with up kicks? Does he block?
=> If he wakes up with up kicks, then you can kill EX up kicks with LK crossup tatsu, if he wakes up with LK up kicks, you have to be careful because it auto corrects tatsu. Mix it up with crossup LK. Condition him to block and then run some unblockables.
-At around half screen ish if Yun neutral jumps throw out st. HP/MP. It will stuff dive kicks and you can block in time just in case they go for short dive kick into ultra
-close range you stuff dive kicks with jump back HP, st. LP, st. LK, st. MP
-When yun is close avoid cr. MK or sweep or st. HK etc because he can reaction divekick whiff punish it, stick to st. jabs/quick normals
-Whiff punish cr. MK whiff with kara throw or sweep (I think yun has enough time to tech the kara throw)
-Some yuns dive kick you, and then immediately neutral jump, if you see this, blow it up ASAP with DP or st. HP
-yuns blocked st. MP is -3 i believe so make sure he doesn’t abuse MP into shoulder. DP it or focus the LP shoulder
That’s all I can think of right now. Gameplan is to maintain position, with footsies, fight for every inch, and condition for unblockables and other stuff. It all comes down to reading the yun player in the end. Joon’s SBO qualifier against Marn and some other guy is a good video reference
Thx for the help. It worked
Anyone got any advice for the Honda match up?? I gotta play Hoodaman first round at evo. Thanks.
Lilsicx vs hoodaman. S.mk is pretty good vs a non meaty buttslam on top of your head.
