This is so true… They just want to keep getting their easy mode wins… They should just go into the Chun thread and tell Capcom to copy and paste her 3s self into SSFIV, so they can all switch to her for easy mode.
Or they could give Rufus a Genei Jin special, so they can just activate Jesus Mode for easy wins…
They still need to fix that throw damage inconsistency… It’s the same damn throw. You mean to tell me Ken can’t do that as well as Ryu? Why do they even bother having Ken and Ryu be rivals if Ken apparently can’t do shit compared to Ryu.
It’s like when your big brudda “spars” with you, goes easy on you cuz your small, and calls it a draw at the end and says you did well… You just can’t get anymore humiliated than that…
i’ll elaborate on the throw issue a bit.
Capcom imho doesn’t want Ken players to want to knockdown his foe nearly as much as Ryu players should. This can be seen by the knockdown options they share.
My suggested alternative would be to make his forward throw his old knee bash.
Let the dmg scale between 10 below what it is now so…110 [as 503030] and say… 170 [as 5030303030*]
Also have the foe back flip into standing as reset, instead of hard fall OTG, for more of that mixup and rush down game.

I guess that’s ok… It’s just that, sometimes you NEED those knockdowns and can’t afford mix up opportunities. In my book, you should only use Tatsu combos over Shoryu combos when you have the health to fuck up the mix up.
When I’m low on health, I mostly stick with Shoryu combos, since I don’t want to risk eating something after my Tatsu mix up.
The same thing would be said for throws. That untechable knockdown that you get is too valuable. He can set up cross ups and fake cross ups based on the forward throw. At the very least, they would need to either replace his back throw with the knee bash (which would be kinda dumb) or change the positioning of his back throw so you’re in the same favorable position as the forward throw.

no way should they change the back throw… that thing is beastly for getting people to the corner.
and basara i think your looking at the knee bash all wrong, depending on how long ken spends in animation and how long their back flip reset is, it could be a even better setup for crossups etc than his current forward throw, especially since it would give them less time to see what we are doing, kinda like how ken can follow up his srk’s with nasty mixups to confuse quick-standers… only this one they would be forced to quick stand. (obviously it wouldn’t be a quick stand but they would still be in a hittable state and it could be highly confusing)
I got ya, Lulu… I guess I just didn’t want my one good knockdown move to not give me a guaranteed knockdown when I need it. I could get over it though.

When you are behind and low on health - it is pretty much a no-no.
Hell you even see some top Japanese players 50/50 Ken’s Ultra after a Tatsu in a close match…

Let me develop: let’s say your Ken had a match against my Dan. And then we put the match on youtube. And asked people to vote which one is coolest - the crazy guy dressed in pink or the handsome blond american guy that DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO DYE HIS EYEBROWS?
I’d say that the votes would be 50%-50%. But then, Dan is a joke character, while Ken isn’t supposed to be.
Seriously, even his Super looks less cool when all you can see are his eyebrows.
If the shoryu knockdown properties get fixed and they make tatsu combos a little safer I think I’d be at least content
it always seems to me like when im playing vs kens and they get behind on health (not talking about the shoryu spammers, the decent ones) ken loses a lot of his viability since his tatsu is well… meh
