Prior to going to Vietnam this year I had several friends and family cite stories where they will punish you severely for breaking the law. Not just Vietnam though, even Japan and Hong kong. Waking up after a night of partying and finding yourself in jail serving several years. He should have known not to mess around with another countries laws. They take their laws much more seriously than here in the USA where pranks pretty much go unpunished.
