old man shit FTL. not cool @ all. i was working out the other day and popped a muscle in my right quad. been walking with a limp since wednesday…
anyways, concerning mlg. yeah, kyah they did have problems with the payout a couple of years ago. since then, they have gotten major sponsorship and there haven’t been any problems with payouts. halo and smash are the main bread winners and tekken 6 was added to the circuit this year. i guess to see how it goes. well, it’s been going pretty good thus far. the turn out has increased at every stop, raleigh being the 3rd one. orlando and columbus prior to that. top 8 gets paid for tekken, don’t know about the other games. not to mention if you play solid you could actually get sponsorship yourself.
free dr. pepper, different flavors included, even diet for you geezers in here! free grab bags of doritos. free shirts. free eco water bottles. free hot pockets AND free coupons for hotpockets! not to mention other stuff i am forgetting. it’s like a convention almost. it’s great man. seriously. there is no reason not to go. people have been complaining about certain aspects of it (starts on friday, ppl cnt get off of work) and i myself was skeptical at first but they made me a believer.
tons of free play. kill zone. gamer accessory booths - which isn’t free but still it’s tailored to gaming and they have some cool shit.
sometimes they want you to fill out surveys at some of the stations but it takes no time at all. forgot to mention the women…good lord in heaven. they have “dr. pepper” girls and every other kind of girl working at the event. not scantily clad because there are kids there on some days but the outfits are racy. they take pictures with you and of you. it’s like being on a tv show. announcers, a PA system, flashing lights, the works.
OOOOHHHH our little shelby is all grown up. jk good luck with it man, the rest of us started on stick but i hear for pad players it is a hellish learning curve, you will be happy later though.
it is looking like i can make it to the tourney baring something unforseen so i will see you guys there. buck by the way i have baddudes board for you if you still want it pm me or call me.
Kyah, I have to say I see i2i now. I don’t want to sell my cabs but I have no space and everything I want to play People play online. Anyway I get off my high horse here.
Ted, hit me up sometime I have been dying to play… even if I have to drive down there.
NOOO I finally have to give up my MAS stick = ( it randomly does hard punch on it’s own now, and it’s very annoying not having a home button!! I can’t invite people to games while i’m playing, or look at messages because i’m signed in with a stick that has no home button. so ghetto!
Easier to switch joysticks?!? This from a community that is supposed to be proficient with hand-Eye coordination??? NO!
What about the bitching and groaning that players do about HD monitor lag? We are ok with system input lag but not with monitor lag?
The pad debate is understandable but pad players are a minority in this genre. Is EVO getting Sony sponsorship so everyone else is doing their best SHEEP imitation?
I’m fairly certain that the number of players on XB360 out-number PS3 (this is just a guess based on personal observations).
The timing for 3S on PS2 and XB was slightly different from the arcade which I have wondered was due to input lag (Ken and Chun players seldom saw the difference, but juggle characters like Urien and Yun had to modify input timing, thus Pyrolee seldom if ever competes in console tournaments).
After reading the Loc-Test reports on arcade version of SSF4 I must say I like what I’m hearing especially that they are FINALLY nerfing Cammy’s ability to dive kick right on top of you. That should ahve been fixed in SUPER.
