Or he could just use Aim Master Up assist. haha. But then you’d have to play Zero a bit lame, otherwise you have no “Get in There” assist.
Hey guys, thanks for your responses. Yeah I’m thinking if I have to specifically cater my team/assists to try and make dealing with this team easier. I’ve been working out some stuff in terms of movements and tactics and I’ve been having a better time with it. It’s just that one tiny mistake on my part is a guaranteed dead Zero. Just scary playing the matchup. Also, do you guys know if the air reset that Haggar does with the command air throw is unblockable? I think I’ve tried everything with all 3 of my chars and there’s nothing I can do to get out of it.
You can air dash out of it with Hienkyaku, preferably H
Hm… I’m usually trying to mash air tele and it’s failed. But then again, the connection isn’t really the best, so maybe it’s crappy online issues…

Dante can jump out, wesker teleport. Timing is tight.
If you are lucky you can mash jab and knock haggar out if he mistimes the reset. Other than stuff like that its inescapable.

Lvl.3 buster Doom on reaction. Wolvie can’t do anything to cover Doom missiles safely.
anyone have tips for a hawkeye match up, at a tourny i got zoned out because of hawkeye with doom missles
I need halp with this too. When is it safe to approach hawkeye when he’s raining arrows and covering all available air space as well as covering the ground with his crap?
^Don’t super jump. Normal jump while approaching hawkeye. If you superjump they can get under you easily to reach the other side and zone you out again. Also, while normal jumping you can do the medium command dash to punish anything they do w/ a full buster charged if they throw something out. Also if you normal jump and back them into a corner and they try to get away and they do that weird floaty jump, it’s a free air grab So normal jump to approach while blocking most the time. Also the only move he has that goes through level 3 buster is piercing bolt so if they don’t use piercing bolt alot then it’s free punishes for whenever they shoot stuff. Also most will shoot one of those normal arrows before a piercing bolt so if your fast enough and you can spot their pattern you can level 3 buster the regular arrow before the piercing bolt comes out.
Hey guys, I’m at Civil War 4 in RVA, and after watching the Team Tourny till 3am last night, I was watching some dumb problems of Zero’s:
(This is to any character really) Akuma’s Approach and Doom Missles. What do you do? even if Akuma is full screen away, the second the missles have you in blockstun, Akuma can wavedash up and get a free combo. If you block high, He starts with Sweep, if you block low? F+M for an overhead that the missles let you combo off on. What does Zero do in this rediculous match-up?
I also noticed that in the Morrigan beam war, There is only 3 ways to Lessen it:
1.Punish Doom’s assist
2.Keep Morrigan out of the Air (H Raikousen, instant Buster Cancel, L Raikousen to catch her on her way down)
or 3. Having a 2nd or 3rd character that can eat fireballs. (Either in their bulky health as a meat shield, or having moves with projectile invulnerability.)
The Last thing I’ve noticed is in the Zero vs C.Viper match up; It’s a battle of who kills who’s first. In Marlinpies case, he normal goes the same starting route (EX Seismo to Air Grab.) So you’ve got to keep your eyes on your feet. Stay out of the Corner as much as possible, even if it’s where Zero shines, because with any lock down assist she can fuzzy guard or mix you up into a ToD. When Zero sees Viper, he should be trying to find a way in by creating almost a moving wall (Busters, Hadangekis, Beam assists.) Force her into the air to cross her up, or move behind said wall untill they get impatient.

Punish doom assist with buster, if you cant chicken block, you can still pushblock akuma away btw, Vajra Morrigan and run away from.viper.

You can air throw him out of a lot of his stuff, avoiding the zipline is important too and learning to respect his attacks as well. Zipline actually beats a lot of zero’s pokes so you have to look out for it. A lot of his stuff is negative, overhead is punishable with st.L so if you have buster and he does overhead, make sure to switch to H charge so you can punish correctly.
Don’t go crazy on the pressure also, I don’t know if you’ve played GG but I kind of treat him like Baiken in that game and it helps a lot now. Put your mixups in the first hit IE: go for a cross up immediately, don’t try to “setup” mixups because honestly, bionic arm just eats that shit alive. You kind of have to be extra random and tricky.
It’s definitely a hard fight though, probably my hardest matchup tied with Magneto for Zero.
Use lightning buster cancels. Do Lightning xx buster xx hienkyaku L to keep yourself safe while keeping Spencer under pressure. That’s the key to the matchup. Do one thing unsafe, and you’re dead. Throw him when you can.
What about the trish matchup…thats like the most difficult matchup I have in this game she keeps running away -___-
