Don’t get discouraged. Best advice for learning RSF.
I tried doing it that way when I first started, and the 2nd hit was incredibly easy. Got it within 2 minutes of trying. Then the 3rd hit never ever happened so I switched to HP, HP, LP, HP.
I was under the impression that this was how everyone performed RSF. My record with this method is 8 RSFs, but I only managed to nail it once in training mode. It was on Akuma, I find him to be the best training dummy. His hitbox makes it easy and it’s also satisfying to watch his lifebar deplete. In a typical match I’ll go for 4 or 5 into a reset.
That’s how I do it as well, I’ve hit 10 in training mode and I think the most I ever got in a match was 7.
Everyone I know does it this way. How are you doing it…
That’s how I do it…seems the easiest and most consistent. I can hit 4-6 easy most days, maxed at 12 in practice and 9 in live play. How were you trying to do it before?
Im a little new to feurte but I know everything I need to know but this questions puzzles me.
Dont you have to do fierce, jab to start the run, jab to sstop, then fierce again n repeat? isnt that the only way to do it? your making it sound like your double tapping something but to me it looks like your doing the needed motion.
What am I missing?
The qcf is implied, place it where it needs to be in that sequence.
Either all you Fuertes have extremely amazing execution and blazing fast fingers or you misread the part about me discussing how the Fuerte player I was watching double tapped RSF.
that means you press each button two times to ensure correct timing, the middle finger hits the button quickly followed by the pointer finger.
HP at the top right of the controller (two button presses, one for each finger)
LP at the top left of the controller 2x (four button presses)
HP at the top right (two button inputs)
the way I RSF and I assumed other RSFed is by using their pointer finger to hit LP and their ring finger for HP.
If you guys are telling me you all double tap RSF with no problem and that is the way most fuertes RSF then I’m a lot slower than I thought I was. :wow:
I saw that you said double tapping but the presses you referred to for your example led me to think you mightve been confused by the term since each jab was listed only once and it didn’t say what button you were double tapping. Yes, that is pretty sick, but I’m not sure if it’s enough of a help to stress learning or relearning it that way. Was this guy running up the reps noticeably?
Yeah he’d pull out 9+ hits on a stunned Abel like it was nothing.
Holy crap! That IS sick!! I am officially amazed.
Also, I’ve been doing RSF using HP, qcf HP, LP, HP. i.e. running using HP(Fierce) run.
I didn’t realise everyone else does LP(Jab) run. I’m only up to 3 hits + slide though, but I found my fingers kept getting confused when I used LP run, so double tapping is WAAAYY out of my league.
I only really double tap on the slide at the end of my loop. For some reason I always hit it to early or something so I just hit it like 2-3 times just to make sure it comes out as quickly as possible.
I dont double tap rsf sounds like over complicating something for no reason I can see why some people do it though if they still havent got the timing down.
Jesus. THAT is what you meant?
That is batshit insane.
Like… wtf?

I would like to see video of this double-tapping RSF player. Paper, can you get that next time you see him?
The new hotness is to not end the RSF with the slide anymore, but to hit it with run up low LK-MK link and mix them up off that. Saw TKD doing that and thought it was him showing off, but then I tried it and it actually puts you in a better position than the run slide does. You could tortilla off the low fwd, run up and throw, run stop fast shower kick, run up and low LK again, or just run stop and block to see if you can bait a jump, etc. It’s actually what I’m gonna start ending my rsf’s with now I think until I get used to it. It gives the opponent less time to regain their composure and gives you more of a chance to finish off those last points of stun. Also, it allows you to automatically be in a position to punish people that mash dps and ultras during your rsf, alot of people are still doing that in case you mess up.
so RSF would end and not link into c. lk?
or RSF -> c. lk -> c. mk stuff
I’m having trouble RSFing into a C. LK
I like what halcyonryu is sayin about the ending of RSF. It makes a lotta sense and they wouldn’t see it coming. Though against certain DP characters or players who are mashing Dp while you are RSFing then going for low mid or short might be a lil more risky than a slide finish.
