Updated 360 controller mac driver, Hori EX2, Mad Catz SFIV Sticks

Please tell me how you got it to work? I’ve been trying for days now.
For some reason it just wont recognize my razor onza.

And where did you get this different version and could you send me it?

Thank you.

Hey exhale, the different id he is talking about is right there in his post: 5769
But you should follow the instructions on the first few pages of this account to figure out what the ID of your specific controller is.

But I would like to second the question for more details. I gave up on my Onza and had sent it back.

My Onza TE won’t work. OS X Lion. I’m tired of this. Someone just email me when they fix it. @ aneffinwookie@gmail.com

To ask what is possibly a stupid question, why does the .plist replacement only work for 0.08?

It’s based off the 0.08 file. The 0.09 file is tweaked differently and is incompatible with the MadCatz 41xx controllers. Last time I checked. You can replace the plist file for any version. Just simply follow some of the instructions that others have posted regarding adding your own vendor and productIDs to it. But using a modified 0.08 plist for a 0.10 version might result in drivers not working. It may work perhaps but no guarantees. The main problem it seems now is that people can’t get it to work on Lion.

finally i got my gamestop xbox controller to work on mac os x lion. F#&K YEAH.

Thats the boat I’m in, 0.08 fails to install. I’m just trying to get my fightpad and Hori EX2 to work.

I got two xbox controllers that seem legit from deal extreme. Running lion and this is what i got.

tried adding it myself but no luck

I’ve been having the same problem. I’ve deleted all the files pertaining to ver 0.11 complete with a secure trash empty and everything and yet it still claims I already have a newer version! I’m using snow leopard by the way.

Actually, ignore my last message as I tried plugging in my new Qanba Q4 RAF and it registered perfectly fine.

Okay guys… So I’ve been through here probably a billion times, and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver probably two billion times… and it still won’t recognize my Gamestop controller. I am assuming I have a new kind of Gamestop controller? Ive used controller list 8, 13, and 15 and none of them are working… The back of my controller says “Controller for XBox 360 - BB - 070”, if any of that will help. I don’t know how to get into it to see all of the little details that all of you post about yours. Can anyone help me please? It’s driving me nuts. All I want to do is shoot some people in Counter-Strike: Source.

Hey, it’s after countless hours of trying to get my Razer Onza TE to work with OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) on my Macbook Pro 4.1 I finally give up.

I’m running the edited 008 version and have tried editing Info.plist both manually and using the automated script, it changes absolutely nothing either way, the controller shows up in system prefs like this;

Quote:
XBOX360 GAMEPAD:

Product ID: 0xfd00
Vendor ID: 0x1689
Version: 1.24
Serial Number: 06B6C124
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Razer
Location ID: 0x1d100000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)
However, Pref360Controls “Device” drop-down menu only displays “No devices found”.

I put the proper product/vendor ids (mine are slightly different than the supplied ones in the most recent ControllerList-15.plist) into Info.plist. No dice.

Removed EVERY other controller info EXCEPT the Razer Onza TE. No dice.

I even got so frustrated with having absolutely no progress at al that I tried using the ‘raw’ hex values from system prefs/USB with no luck.

From searching pretty much the entire web and every nook and cranny you could think of, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am far from alone suffering these issues. Seems like everyone else gave up or either got it working (seemingly miraculously) without telling anyone.

This seems like it spans outside the range of third party hardware glitch or whatnot, like some other underlying problem is facilitating this.

So please, any ideas?

Did you sudo touch the necessary folder and then restart?

Strangely enough, I finally got the controller to work… I have no idea how, really, but after tinkering one last time with a new .plist file only containing info for the Razer Onza TE once again, it actually works…

So, for everyone who wants to somewhat successfully (the controller is pretty much rubbish, I’m afraid…) use the Razer Onza TE with this driver, here’s how I made it work;

I installed the “Install360Controller008-edited.pkg” and then dropped this file: (http://www.mediafire.com/?1biva8owdjuargn) on the “InstallNewControllerList.app” and waited for it to fully finish, then rebooted.
Plugged in the controller and it’s recognized and working, the first LED on the Xbox guide wheel even lights up.

Using the .plist i linked will make any other controller incompatible though, so only try it out if you, like me, only have a wired Razer Onza TE controller.
Don’t blame me if this ruins anything.

Hey tsphan - you made my day when you added the Mad Catz Rock Band Drum kit to the plist. Can you add this one too? Also, is there a way we can do this ourselves if we know the Product & Vendor IDs?

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work by installing it myself. I edited the plist in text edit and included my product & vendor ids in the file, then installed it using the Install New Controller List application. Thanks, and don’t bother!

I have OSX 10.7.3 and a Razer Onza Tournament Edition controller. I tried everything the thread said to do, I installed the tattiebogle driver, version 8, and copied the updated .plist into the installer that I downloaded from the link. I also watched the youtube video and followed all the steps to make sure I was doing it right and everything seemed to work. The driver is installed successfully and shows up in my preferences pane, and the installer asked for my password twice when I dragged the .plist into it, just like the video said it would. However my controller still will not work, even after multiple restarts.

v16 of the controller information, this includes all of the requested controllers so far. Including the other information for Razer Onza and Onza TE controllers.

v8 disguised as v11, this will actually over-install any current version of the drivers.

Again, this works perfectly if you’re using Snow Leopard or older versions. Tiger and older versions will need to restart after installing.

I have yet to figure out how to use the new drivers made for Lion to be honest. They included a + sign in the system preferences that seems to absolutely break the drivers when I change the info.plist. It’s kinda throwing me off to be honest. But I’ll have more updates and will start my own thread soon. I have emailed Colin to see if he could possibly change the drivers a bit for us to remove it but no response so far.

Also, if you anyone has any more requests. There is no need to make a SRK account, especially if you have no interests in fighting games. Just email me at “phantim+xboxdrivers <at> gmail.com” remove the spaces and switch the <at> for @.

Hi guys. I really hope someone can help.

I have found a way of installing the controllers on Lion.
Follow the instructions on the video and/or post.

I was using the PDP Afterglow, So I know that works. For other controllers I believe you follow the sam instructions, however the product and vendor id will probably be different.

I have followed your method but its still not working for me. The details of my pad are
