update out now

Oh, I didn’t realize you had some sort of “what would have happened if…” machine, where you actually know what would’ve happened if things actually went according to plan. You have no clue if Ignition would have or wouldn’t have released the patch yesterday, even if the game actually hit when it was supposed to.

See, it’s absolutely stunning that you think this part is even up for debate. I don’t know what you’re smoking or if you just hacked your console or something, but you are yet to play a game that is, by your standards, “complete.” Every single game you’ve bought straight off a disk, in all likelihood, prompted you to download a patch before it let you play it online. If you’ve ever had an exception, it’s probably because your router was disconnected.

And the kicker on top of your attempts to deny plain-and-simple facts is that you, for whatever reason, think that Blazblue had perfect netcode straight out of the box when everyone (except you, clearly) knows that this was not the case.

What, pray tell, makes you think that SNK is the one behind the net code?

Honestly, you can continue to yammer and call me stupid. It doesn’t change the fact that you’re factually, unequivocally wrong.

Oh wait, I guess you do have that “what would happen if…” machine, and you got a copy of Blazblue that didn’t get patched.

Well, the thing is, SNK wouldn’t have put this patch out without complaints. Those complaints wouldn’t have come if the game wasn’t released early by Gamestop. If that hadn’t happened, they would be saying this today.

This patch supposedly contains a patch to netcode. It hasn’t done much help, if any at all. What good is a dedicated server if the netcode is still crap?

None.

If SNK does right and patches this, and it works, hey good for them, I’ll go out and buy the game, which I do here is a solid game, and support them for actually doing right.

You could only know this by working there.

What makes you completely sure that they didn’t plan on making the Online work well on release day from the beginning, time constraints meaning they had to finish up the Netcode after they finished up the game and started shipping copies out?

Nobody can know for sure, what their plan was, nor will we know if a patch does come out to make Online work well on release day, a Week from now, a Month from now, or never.

So, for now, everyone just save the “I HATE YOU ESS ENNN KAAAYYYY” and “SHUT UP SNK RULES THEY WILL FIX IT DEFINITELY” until we have a clear cut picture of just what the hell is going on.

How about the ENTIRE HISTORY of SNK’s venture on next gen systems as proof that they WOULDN’T HAVE EVEN BOTHERED WITH PATCHING THIS GAME WITHOUT COMPLAINTS?! Is that sufficient for you? Or do I need to break it down in words with less syllables?

Ok, yeah, so I got the BlazBlue patch thing wrong. Sue me, I was half asleep. Still doesn’t change the fact that when I put that game in my console, that the netcode worked like it should’ve, and SNK is still sitting there, saying they patched the netcode, and there hasn’t been any improvement.

See above

If they aren’t behind the netcode, they are copy/pasting whoever’s netcode into every game they port.

Ok, but that doesn’t change the fact that you have an IQ of 48, and are what some might call: Mentally Retarded.

Hmmmm, considering you skipped over the post where I mentioned that I was half-asleep while multiquoting me to get this post also, one of two things happened:

  1. You actually missed the post where I said I was half-asleep and therefore couldn’t remember whether there was a patch or not when I put BlazBlue in.

or

  1. You purposefully skipped over it, because you realized you couldn’t refute that, in an effort to make yourself look smart. I’d say “smarter than you already are,” but that in itself would have to imply that you are smart to begin with, and I can’t make that leap to say that.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt though, just this once.

I think it’s safe to go by their past history; that in and of itself should prove their nonchalant attitude toward their console points.

I’ll admit that I can’t know exactly what SNK would’ve done today had they not had the Gamestop pre-release. That may be one thing spudly is right about. (Oh God, did I really just say that?)

All I can do is look at the facts.

  1. SNK pushes out a patch that claims to improve netcode and doesn’t. Ignition even confesses that it’s not perfect yet.
  2. Also in the patch, SNK releases some features that people had asked for on Ignition’s forums.
  3. Said patch of netcode also creates a regression, causing some matches to hang, according to at least on poster here. I don’t know whether this is an isolated issue or not, but I will list that here, until I have been told that it was not caused by the patch itself.

Does that sound like they had this patch “planned all along” to you?

I mean, I’ll hold out hope. But if they don’t deliver, hate to say “I told you so…”

Wow, I just played the smoothest matches in my life (online).
It never felt so good baby!

If this goes on, all the noobs who takes lag as a advantage will finally get their ass whoop.
(Like the ones who just waits for you to jump in to counter you, lol!, yay whiffs!)

Gamestop didn’t release it early, legally they can’t do that. SNk allowed it, probably an exclusivity deal.

The patch did very little to fix the netcode, I’m getting input lag on the character select screen for crying out loud. This is the absolute worst fighting game online. PERIOD.

Is GGPO THAT hard to slap on? BB is perfect online as a result.

Which games, precisely, are you basing this on? KOF 98 and Garou? You mean the ones that weren’t even actually put on the 360 by SNK? Or do you mean Fatal Fury Special which, in my experience, had solid online play and the oddly rare ability to see a host’s Ping before you start a game with him?

So yes, the game released by Aksys and Arc was, indeed, incomplete by your confabulated standards.

Not that it matters. Because when everyone (except you, apparently) put Blazblue in their console, the netcode didn’t work like it should have. Did you go into the Blazblue section and bitch then, too? The only difference is that Blazblue wasn’t released five days early and as such, you only saw one patch to the netcode. In all likelihood, the shit-flavored netcode you (and by “you,” I mean “everyone else, because you have your magic copy of Blazblue that apparently didn’t need to be patched”) had on Blazblue’s day one wasn’t fresh out of the box.

Trust me, if there isn’t another patch to make it better, I’ll join you at the front of the line of complainypants. The thing is that you are rambling all sorts of stupid about how SNK ran over your dog and raped your mother because the Xbox 360 ports they handed off to ANOTHER COMPANY sucked.

Mature.

Spudly: “You’re wrong and here’s why.”

MP: “ur retarded LOL.”

Ignition put out the patch, stupid.

And everyone except you and your magical copy of Blazblue says that it did improve it. Just not enough.

Honestly, you’re not even arguing about anything at this point. You admit Blazblue was incomplete, which throws out any sort of indictment against KOFXII. You admit you’re basing your claims that KOFXII won’t be fixed on nothing but conjecture. You’re just trolling at this point.

You could’ve just said “I don’t think the game will actually get fixed” and left it at that. Instead you had to go ahead and make an ass of yourself.

To those who has their KOFXII double installed can you guys try out PS Home for second?

It’s not working for me. And I have a feeling it was the problem of the KOFXII installing twice.

ugh guys can you take your mindless bickering to gamefaqs? This thread is about the patch (and hopefully one for today, fingers crossed)

was he yellow or red?

But the BB team is bigger than the KOF XII team, dude (and BB still has half the frames, half the characters, and half the shading tones - i guess everybody was working on the patch you didn’t notice, or watching Gonzo make the extras).

Do your homework before you spout off your bullshit.

And, you say you don’t want to pick on people on the thread, only to do just that a few posts later.

Also… Posting the same points 5 times on the same page helps noone. It only bothers other fighting game fans. You know, people just like you?

And yet it still looks as good, if not better, every character is an individual, and who gives an ass about shading tones?

For now, every match I’ve had with usual friends from PSN (the ones I usually play SFIV and BB, because I have lagless matches with them), was pretty much lagless and smooth.

Only had problems with random people, but hey, I’ve had that problem on SFIV and BB too.

I don’t know if they plan on making another patch anytime soon, but for now it’s working for me.

Just positive input, for a change ^^

I’ll try a few Clan fights when I get the chance, just not into the whole Clan thing for now, since I need more practice, and regular versus is the way to go.

PS : you can’t really compare this game and other 360 ports, since Garou and 98 online netcode was handled by some half-assed chinese company IIRC.

360 Update is out.

I’ma see what the new is like and report back.

I downloaded the patch…

Maybe it’s because it’s late at night but I can’t find a good connection anywhere. Have ended up playing people in France, Brazil, and Hong Kong (!), and they were all slow-motion underwater fights. Played someone in Florida and it was equally slow. (I’m on west coast).

I’ve found one yellow connection, but never even got to play because the game locked up after the character select screen. The game has locked up in three different spots in the last half hour of play attempts.

If this was THE patch, well…

360 update didnt do hardly shit, it just made the connection to locals better other than that its a no go

happens to me on every blue connection I come across.

Just got the game. After the excrutiating install, every match is either HORRIBLE and lags at the character select screen, or i just crash before the match starts.

Doesnt help that i live in the UK, i accept the connection will probably be nasty but damnnnnnn at least let me try and have a horrible match before crashing :arazz:

is anyone else having issues with their saved replays after the patch? my replays are completely jacked up. the characters will batter for awhile and then just stand there and let the match time out.
