I’m going to play Saints Row II until like 5, come down, eat BK and hopefully go Mark Henry on somebody. If anybody wants to join me for 50yen per play before the event that’d be pretty cool.
Well played tonight, Gents.
Johnny and I both hit 10,000BP tonight, and Tokubetsu won some matches too.
Slinkun and Hfz… Be ready. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Yeah, just against you. =P
I definitely feel like I’m getting better. However, beating someone other than you first would be a better indicator. lol
How was today? Any new faces?
Nah just the usual crowd minus Hfz, Cfay, Slinkun and Ranix. A Japanese guy hung around on the Gaijin machine though, ha.
As far as the upper competition I don’t think there was anyone terribly famous today. Not like Inoue last week.
10k? damn. i had tough matches today against rufus and dictator. i won twice in 5 matches though… still stuck in 5k-7k hell.
i’ll find ways to practice back home.
but then, 10k also means that i’ll get more points when I beat you looks at beikoku taichou
couldnt make it yesterday, gotta be up at 5am. good to hear everyone stepping their game up.
Me too couldn t came.
To much work. I hope to make it next week…
I already loose my card, I think I always forget it on the machine , I m still not use to take it back.
I will never reach the 30 000 bp if i keep loosing my cards ( That a good excuse ^^)
Am I the only one that might change is mind about taking the console version( I will keep going to arcade but for practice some online, and try new caracter It might be cheaper at the end( I wana try Viper but she is more expensive than a ps3 ahahah))
im getting a 360… though i’ll still play at the arcades.
Connor and Johnny raped my asshole in with Ken and Balrog. Those Ken combos are just ridiculous, crossup 14 jabs, uppercut SADC ultra it takes longer than a goddamn Magneto infinite!
I’m still trying to decide on a character. Blanka seems like a lot of tricks and I don’t really know what to do with him… maybe Gief will work for me if I find out some ways to land the Ultra easily.
thought you’re maining honda?
well put.
He sucks too much. I really need that character that can get out of crossup situations. I really don’t like blocking every wakeup when I don’t have an EX available. I’m used to playing games where if you cross me up, I can hit you 100% with the characters I play so IV is annoying in that respect.
I’m not going to pick a main until I get to play around on console.
And I should add “no homo” on the rape thing.
Yeah, nothing gay about rape. It’s just one of those things you gotta do from time to time.
No seriously though, GGs. I’d say they were all fair matches. I definitely sweat against everyone I played last night.
I also feel you on the main thing. I use Ken because he’s fairly consistant from game to game (though I find myself unsuccessfully trying to use forward + MK in ST) but I really wanna pick up Chun (who is way different in every game) so I can be more well rounded. She seems to have more answers to Gief IMO.
Your Blanka was by far your best last night though. You almost destroyed Ponyo. I was impressed.
I am thinking of trying Bison again too cause I heard that what I was trying to do was sort of the right thing (whiff devil reverse, stand hk stand mk lk scissors) I just executed it badly. He really plays more like A2 Bison in that respect.
I just use old tricks that I’ve seen. Been reading guides for Blanka though. My main thing I need to do is break throws better I think, besides using the saving system. I hope online is good enough that I can wail on some scrubs for a bit until I get it.
That Ponyo guy is good… but it’s really not for the right reasons imho. His execution is brutal, but his spacing needs a bit of work. Me, I have played 4 for maybe 2-3 weeks, and I am almost knocking this fool off the machine by just poking, countering and spacing? I actually see that a lot in these japanese players, if you get your spacing down all they can hope for is a lucky big combo… unfortunately if they start the combo THEY NEVER FUCK IT UP!!! I guarantee if he and I played SFII (any version) he couldn’t take me out, unfortunately we’re playing IV and that’s a whole different thing! =)
As far as IV goes I am more hyped about this game than I am MVC2, which is the only non SFII series game I ever got decent at. I used to put in up to 10 hrs a day when I had my DC so once 4 comes out I guarantee I’ll be trying to level up hella hard.
Um so yeah, its an old stereotype that japanese are all about combos.
Ponyo is actually the current best at Alpha 3 supposedly. I hate playing against Ponyo but I have to give him his respects. He keeps challenging his opponents, and is good at reading opponents.
His real character is Ryu. But I don’t know if he’s been playing him lately.
To be honest, it’s really hard to have a feel if players are good in sf4. Game caters towards turtling and safe high damage guesses that even the best players look like lucky scrubs sometimes.
I didn’t say I don’t respect him, just with his rating and all of that he should be owning me up for free and I don’t even get an offensive chance on him. It felt when I was in control of my range he was a bit stuck, until he hit a low forward x hurricane x uppercut SADC fireball or something.
His wakeups are incredibly strong too, I dont mean to take anything away from the guy just posting my opinion that he should honestly be zone-killing me easy.
As far as Japanese being all about combos, that’s not even what I’m trying to convey. Sure, they don’t generally miss their combos, but I’ve only really been locked down when playing ST Honda on Anniversary. I have a much harder time with Korean CE players that know the zoning traps because they take that game serious. Your knowledge of zoning in SF shows up in whatever game you’re playing by your playstye, generally when he was trying to play footsies I could hit my trip, slide punch etc for the knockdown and because I’m crouching he cant hit me with his normals unless I fuck up.
Oh well, different strokes. Maybe if we talk about what these certain players seem a little underdeveloped in we can think of ways to beat them, rather than saying “This guy is gdlk.”
You’re forgetting one thing Grits.
Everybody is Human, and we don’t always make the best decisions or do everything 100% perfect.
Or maybe your awesomeness just radiates onto him and he gets freaked.
:nunchuck:
Not saying he should be perfect, but I should have no business even getting a round off these guys.
Far from awesome at 4 I assure you.
Beikoku I am getting on GGPO for a while will challenge you if you’re on.
Not sure if I’m gonna make it this week or not. I’ll let Beikoku know in advance.
