i need to work on so many match ups, i’m just too lazy to go out and play people.
Gogo Grits. I have faith in you.
I think.
Haha thanks. I played OK, I beat up on a few Japanese Akuma players, a couple with B Rank. I ALMOST knocked off a grandmaster rank Balrog, but my EX Oicho ran into an EX Buffalo Headbutt! SHIT! Isse was there too but IDK if I played against him, he explained to me that one cabinet was for “Beginners” people under 30,000 BP!
To the guys in the thread, thanks so much for the games, info and chatting. I’m still so fresh to SFIV but I think things are looking up. It was good to meet people that spoke my language, and I hope I made some friends too.
Sorry if I come off as a loud obnoxious ass sometimes, I was just super excited… and I’m from the East Coast. We play fighters a little differently on the “Beastcoast” than some laid back Cali people. :annoy: It’s also been 3 months since I’ve met or talked to somebody IN ENGLISH besides my wife!
Marty, Beikoku, Earl, Slin you guys were great to play against. Slin, I am predicting your future (shakes magic 8 ball) OICHO THROW! Jk buddy. GG’s also to the two (French?) guys, Ronnie and IDK the other guys name. You guys are buff.
Let me know if you want games on ST/Champion Edition fro GGPO or HD Remix games. My PSN is listed (obviously)
Good games to CFAY today!
The big guy gave me a 100 yen off discount today for some reason, I guess it was cause I came a little late. I heard INO was there earlier.
I had a lot of fun, too, despite being easily the worst player there
My C. Viper needs a lot of work, too.
Crouching Viper, Hidden Sagat.
yea good games ohayo1234. nice dictator, really enjoy the gaijin comp. my guile had to pull out the jar of styling gel. how you like that old school zoning lol. you know what, i gave 500yen and he gave me 300yen back also.
good games to everyone else who got electrocuted by fat punany viper. abel what happened lol grits, thats a funny honda style you got there…but it works. dont know for how long but it got you some wins lol. that ex headbutt against guile super was sick.
i wanted to play a couple more games but you know how it is with the last train. yea ranix said ino was there, dude in the blue who left early.
I heard from Mizuki that Honda does a lot of neutral jumping. I ASSUMED he meant that I do a lot of fireball hopping. That’s been one of my fortes since CE, I usually play the OG games like this: I turtle up, if I can’t match a fireball I hop it STRAIGHT UP. My opponent won’t knock me down if it doesn’t hit, they will waste time and get frustrated. I (almost) NEVER move backward, I NEVER jump in unless I will hit 100% or I’m losing real bad. If you’re going to try to out turtle me, I will out turtle you. If I gain a lead, I will tank until I lose said lead, do a couple simple things to regain it and continue my (Jeff Schaefer’s) style. The clock is my number one ally, people tend to get really antsy around the 30 second mark.
So, I thought that was what Honda was supposed to do. Honda’s jump is MUCH improved, and the float over fierce is awesome.
I got to find out what I’m REALLY supposed to do with Honda and then maybe I can get a longer streak. My biggest tonight was like 5 or 6 can’t remember. Any tips anybody has is graciously appreciated.
I’d have to say the moment of the night was when hfz (I’m pretty sure it was you) somehow Ultra’d in between two of the hits in Ryu’s EX Tatsu. It was amazing and utterly confusing at the same time.
Tonight was weird. I went from a 7 win streak earlier in the night to becoming the scrubbiest scrub that ever scrubbed later in the night.
Good games all around though.
hahah yeah that was me alright. i had a hard time pulling off combos (somehow ive deteriorated compared to the very first time ive played lol) but that ultra in between the tatsus made me go wtf too.
a new setup for ultra haha. purposely get hit by an ex tatsu, ultra. whee.
cfay didnt really do me a favor by picking up viper, getting your ass kicked by a viper two days in a row sucks.
good games everyone. i took some videos at the end though, really scrubby but yeah just for fun haha. will upload soon i get back home.
pz
saw something similar watching a match with boxer/fuerte. fuerte was all in boxer’s face with the run fierce, boxer took about three run fierce then he just timed a combo breaker type ex headbutt to ultra. i’m guessing its just a coincidence that the fuerte player messed up the timing on that one run fierce and boxer did the headbutt at the same time but thats just too weird. it was that 66000bp boxer, maybe he knows something. i’ve seen a lot of times where a gief player just mashes out an ex SPD out of hit stun while getting hit with some chain/links. could it be?
Yes it s just that el fuerte player didn t combo the loop. Many guy are doing that against el fuerte. during a loop maching shoryu or ultra, and if el fuerte make a mistake…
for the ultra during ex tatsu, it s just that you were crouching and sometime ex tatsu doen t combo all hit against some crounching character( small one like dhalsim ) and then you were just mashing ultra, no?
If you haven t mashed the ultra, then defenetly you were lucky ahahha)
My moment was when against a 66000bp GM boxer with no more life I made Umehara no jutsu. I just back dash then zoned , walk into him and boom shoryu FA cancel ultra exactly when he pushed a bouton^^ and win
may be it was just gakokujin no random shoryu jutsu ^^
I feel like I need to start jumping to the “hardcore” machines so I can get raped. That way, when I head back to the states here on firday or saturday, I can show those cats how the Japanese roll. Good games all around, I need to work on my claw though. You got one nice honda grits! Just FYI, since you said you were unfamiliar with the FA system. You can avoid chip damage from FB’s by FA’ing and then backdashing. Useful, if your in a situation where neutral jumping may not be an option. Plus it well help acquaint you to the system.
I’ve been watching Mike Ross’ Honda lately. I think I will use that saving against FB especially when against charged up Akuma. One guy was able to bait me to jump a fireball and then he got me with SGS.

lol
Do you guys know of anywhere in Ikebukuro with a 50 yen per play machine?
Shibuya is a little far out for me to go on the regular.
Safari is not near ikebukuro?
anyway comp is quiet good in ikebukuro so you should find a place
I don’t care if I won… That first round is embarrassing as hell.
