Yeah, I try to get some games in with them as much as I can when I’m in town. Ian said a bunch of the Ark guys were gonna be in Japan and I thought he was joking. What time are you guys gonna head down there?
Also, is there anywhere else that people meet to play Super? I’m planning on maining Dudley but as of now the only practice I’ve been getting with him while I’m here is in training mode. It would be cool if I were able to play some high level players here.
Ah nice. I wish I could. I didn’t know how much English he spoke and when he tried to make conversation, I wasn’t really sure if he would understand what I was gonna say back so I just nodded my head and laughed. When I left, he wasn’t anywhere to be seen so I couldn’t say thanks. Oh well, maybe next week. By the way, I think I managed to develop stage 3 lung cancer tonight. Man, I wish there was better ventilation down there!
Sorry for the reply. My roommate and I usually leave early in the morning to go around Tokyo and we don’t have internet access. We were there from around 7:30 until 11 (actually here and there much earlier also). I’m not sure if you were there, but we were the Asian guys that didn’t really fit in haha. But yeah, it’s just us two guys from AR.
I’d also like to know where people play super around here. I know they busted out Super at freeplay tonight. Some of the players took their turns at it. My roommate and I also have a console if anybody wants to set something at.
All in all, nice experience tonight. Got to see a few grandmasters and a few masters play. Man, I feel totally helpless against them.

Yeah, I was pretty busy all day yesterday and by the time I got back last night I was exhausted. Do they do it every day? I can make it out tonight if so. Also, it’d be cool if we got some super in. I brought my box but I only have one stick and the tv here lags.
It’s all good man. A lot of good players out last night. Do they do what everyday? If you’re talking about free play it’s only on Thursday. I don’t know where me and my roommate are going tonight. I think we’re going to Akihabara and another arcade. We should definitely get some super in though. Me and my roomie both brough sticks and a console and we were thinking about getting a CRT or something. We might have one usable at our place though. I dunno, we’ll have to meet-up sometime. When you available and where do you want to meet up?
I was probably gonna go to Shinjuku tonight since it’s closer but I wouldn’t be able to show up until like 9. Where are you guys staying? I’m at the National Youth Olympic Memorial Center right next to Yoyogi park between Sangubashi and Harajuku.
I’ll update when I find out where we’re going later today, but we’re staying in the Nerima ward. It’s kinda a small house for foreigners. (Shrek Watta House).

I think most of us will be there on Thursday if anybody wants to join us. There’s 4 of us now. Also, Andre has expressed interest in playing some Super in the near future.
I’ll go on Thursday if others do. I have actually yet to go the free play since i’ve been here.
Also, how long are you in Japan? And where do you usually play? And… Do you have access to SSF4?
Me and my roomie will be here until July 1st. I believe Chris will be here a little longer and Andre will leave a little sooner. There are a good amount of people that go on Thursday (mostly master/grandmaster level Japanese players) and a few of us Americans. It’s definitely a great experience, but be prepared to get lung cancer from all the smoke.
My roommate and I usually play at Shinjuku Sportsland in Shibuya on Thursdays and Sundays. If not there, we’ll usually play at Mikado (BlazBlue) or BigBox. Other than that, most of the arcades we’ve been to have been pretty dead when it comes to SF4.
Thursday free play has Super SF4 but they use EX2 joysticks. We also have SSF4 with two TEs at our place.
Nice dude. I’d love to jam some SSF4 as i’ve yet to really play it other than a demo at some events. You guys got a cell phone while you’re here?

Yo, that was pretty sick tonight. I didn’t think they would have tourney. The japanese dudes were all really chill. I’m used to being the only fuerte player, so it was nuts being around two really good fuerte’s (TKD and root).

Good shit, good shit. Yeah, tournament was amazing. I need to learn Japanese so I can talk with everybody. Everyone was so nice, even saying “good job” in English when I barely beat Cha0tix (gg btw). And damn those GMs were crazy. Also, I was surprised at how unusually fresh the air seemed tonight. It’s usually 10x worse than that from my experience.
You’re too nice dude. My Bison has nothing on any of those Japanese guys. Hopefully I’ll get it up there within the next few weeks. I have no idea what to do against a good Fuerte, but even if I did, you probably still would’ve beat me just on your fundamentals and reading ability. GGs man. My roomie doesn’t post here much, but he says GG also. And yeah, he also doesn’t know what to do against Fuerte haha.
I might bring my TE next Thursday so we don’t have to play on the EX2s. Oh and let’s set a meetup for Super. When’s everyone free?
