UPDATE: 300 Yen Free Play Street Fighter IV in Shibuya

I haven’t been playing that much lately. I’ve been really busy with school, and I think the culture shock of living with a family has finally started to catch up to me, so I’m constantly either pissed or depressed about stupid stuff and don’t really feel like playing.

Plus, they only have one TV, and I feel bad playing a game when everyone is there.

I know what you mean about the culture shock.

I am SO BORED of living in Japan. The humor here is totally different, tv is different, food is shitty. If I eat another grain of rice, or some terrible bitter soup I will pull my hair out.

I’m kind of hoping that my job interviews coming up fail so that I can leave.

Not that Maine is any better. You know at 23 I thought I’d always thought I’d have a better life.

lol yeah japanese humor sucks, big time. I rarely watch any tv here. Food is aight though. LOL@hatin on rice. I used to think Miso Soup tastes like garbage but i love it now

Japanese humor summed up in one (of two) sentences:

Be as loud and annoying as humanly possible.

Or wear womens clothes or something stupid looking. (See: “The Baron”)

Rice has no flavor, I don’t know how you Asians can continue to eat it every day, I’ve eaten so much of it that I HAVE to put something on it to choke it down. Miso soup isn’t so bad depending on what is in it. Oden is way worse, I honestly can’t consider that food. What gets me though is how Japan supposedly loves the varied tastes of other cultures when their food is always sour or bitter, and salty if not completely bland. Then they take regional food and “Japanize” (ruin) it. Like with Pasta they don’t do any nice thick sauces, and then have the nerve to pollute it with salmon roe and nori. If I wanted that nasty shit on my noodles I’d just go to a ramen shop. I have never had any Japanese food with any spiciness, and yeah I’ve tried Wasabi.

I just want to, just one time, go and get some Italian food that tastes like Italian food. And yeah, I know in the US we ruin a lot of things too, but at least there are a smattering of actually authentic restaurants around. My 2 favorite restaurants in Japan are Biratnagar which is authentic Indian food, and Fujimamas which is now gone which had as close to American breakfast and lunch as you can get.

Japan also seriously fucked up hamburgers. You guys ever eat at Mos burger? Most places you can only get a Hambaagaaa with “Demigrass sauce” which is, in reality, a salisbury steak.

Yeah, spicy japanese food is rare(though i think there’re nice spicy ramen out there). Wasabi? That shit aint even spicy to start with.

Yakiniku is da shit though. Just had it yesterday for lunch hahaha.

Beikoku & chadwalk, nice meeting you guys today, and good games :). After I left I went to Club Sega, found no one playing SF4 (though many playing VFR and T6), went to Shinjuku, didn’t know how to find the Club Sega there, ate Soba, went back home. Too bad I couldn’t join you guys again. Did more masters show up?

I only like that and shabushabu a lot.

Oh and chankonabe. I know YOU know spicy food as a Malasian. I eat hottest possible Indian food once a weekish.

Thanks for coming, Chadwalk and Toasted Bread… Sorry I didn’t say goodbye to you guys when you left.

GGs to you both. Chad you got a mean Guile.

Also… I beat Shiro. Yeah, that’s right. Check my card.

Whoa Shiro showed up later? And you beat his Abel? Good job man! I wish I had stayed!

Thanks for the heads up about the arcade and the weekly free-play event they have :-).

Wasabi fits in with a pretty non-traditional spice thats along the same lines of horse-radish. Burns in the nose, not in the throat.

Frankly I love the Japanese food here. Especially the random curry places. I suppose I’m biased though. When I come back from deployment, everything that isn’t ship food is delicious. When I’m in port, I still grab a lot of Taco Bell, Mcdonalds, Popeyes, Subway, Chilis… it’s all on base. I could see where all that rice and noddle stuff could get old if that’s all you ate though.

oooh nice.

It was awesome playing with you guys. I dipped out right at 11:30 cause I was about to have a wild coughing attack and I didn’t want anyone to rush in and quarintine me. Hahaha. Good playing though, you’ve inspired me to try and mess around with Ken. And Muhammad, i’ll definitely start playing smarter, hahaha. Good times guys.

Oh yeah, Japanese food has been the worst so far. It doesn’t help that I’m sick and it makes me feel like i’m getting more sick because of it, hahaha.

Man, I am on a quest to find that authentic American breakfast. For lunch and dinner I’m willing to be adventurous and international, but first thing in the morning I want home cooking. Please let me know if you discover anything else.

lol dude you gotta rest a little and maybe drink warm tea and stuff :-D!

And you’re already playing smart, it’s just that you need to capitalize on opportunities a little more :). Like we were talking, when you get a jump-in kick it’s better to follow-up with something more damaging than cr. RK. Maybe try cr. MP > sonic boom > level 2 FA (I think it should combo if you release the buttons as soon as you see the flash indicating you’re at level 2). After that you get a crumple and can do more stuff :).

I think I may go again next Wednesday if I can. Good games all!

Oh snaps! We got another guile player going to shibuya? Nice!

Note: Off a jump in, just c.mp xx flashkick if your in range. That other combo will only work in the corner, and even then only in a specific range.

Yeah chadwalk plays Guile. And sorry I didn’t remember that the combo is corner only, I didn’t play Guile after finishing his trial mode combos so I don’t remember his stuff very well, but like you said the cr. Mp XX flash kicks is a safe bet and is a trademark of Guile.

Do they have a machine in the arcade for newbies? I have only played very little SF and that on controller, so I would probably get very owned, but is this place still a nice place to go to?

Hi BTW, first post. I am just a Swedish guy traveling japan, would be nice to try out the Japanese arcade experience while here.

There is a “noobie” machine but people are still pretty good on it.

Just come down anyways. I guarantee you’ll be better by the end of the night. It’s definitely a fun place to go.

Sounds great. Will give it a shot with my oblivious Guile hehe.

lol beware of the n00b machine!

i wanna go next week but i have a katy perry show to go to
