i think i might go to nakano on mon(for the freeplay till 4pm and then maybe i’ll take a walk somewhere, have dinner etc then watch/join the intermediate tourney just for fun haha) and wed(beginners tourney).
btw when do you usually go on psn for sf4? im fine with fighting random japanese and all but so far i dont have friends(in japan) consistently being online to fight with haha.
it all depends on where u end up and who you work for. me and slinkun work on the same base but i usually leave work at 4pm the latest and i can go anywhere with anyone or solo. i also dont live on the base so after work i’m out

Champion Edition update is the shit. I can actually get/play a match now.
I think that whole thing was frustrating me the most, wait 20 minutes to get into a game and then fight a turtle <insert character> with input lag. it’s impossible to improve only getting like 10 matches a day if lucky. And even if I did beat the guy they rage quit!?!?
Since I got CE update I played probably 30 matches in an hour or something, it was off the wall Fuerte madness, and it was ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE.
I probably won’t end up quitting it now that the home version actually works.
You guys should add my japanese account Grits-chan. I don’t want any distractions like Seth to take me away from El Fuerte.

you were exaggerating, right? 20 mins? with the game installed? so far ive no complaints regarding console, i need to check that CE though, is it gonna be automatically downloaded??
I’m exaggerating sure but not by a lot. Usually my connection ratio was like 1/8 attempts or worse. So for every one lobby I got into (and didn’t get kicked from) I had to wait for like 8 connections to actually get a match, it really adds up. Then I have to wait for the guy to counter pick me (seriously dude, I am playing FUERTE just PICK KEN OR BLANKA ALREADY GODDAMNIT), wait for him to pick a stage, wait for loading… it was unbelievable. I had one day trying to connect for 15 tries, I counted. On time 15 I shut off the PS3.
That’s the shit that really made me mad about 4 is not being able to play it. I was going to quit all of Street Fighter because I COULDNT get a match online in 4 and HD Remix, lets face it, it’s way too fuckin easy.
The CE thing is auto downloaded.
Weird, because I have no problems at all resembling what you just described (maybe because i have a kickass connection though)… I dont get counter picked that much though sometimes I get the “ooh abel, im gonna use gief and rape you” lol.
Anyway thanks for the info regarding the update (glad it doesnt involve going to psn site or anything since my psn is in japanese and its a bitch to read kanjis on my wack tv 
). Imma try it tomorrow after class. I cant afford to play tonight or hours will be wasted and chances are I’m gonna miss my class haha.
p/s - sometimes i have to refresh 2-4 times to get a 4bars opponent but it wasnt that annoying…
Haha, ooohh ya man. Get ready to square off against the type of patience that will make you pound your head on the machine. Seriously, the Japanese are good. I’m one of the few people in the world who has a good amount of experience in both japan and america. I’ve been in japan for about 6 months now and I also placed 5th at ranbat 2.1 in socal using guile. American’s are good, but the Japanese really have the turtle style down.
Anyways, nice to see more vipers! Where about in Tokyo are you?
Oh, and unrelated, I probably won’t be going to Shibuya again for awhile because I have duty this upcomming thursday and then we are doing drills out to sea. I’ll try to make it to Nakano for one of the tournies though. Also, I wouldn’t mind hitting up some pasiopard in yokohama if anyones interested? (I’m looking at you earl.)
