Unpopular TV/comic/anime/music/general media opinions -NO POLITIC TALK

I think that some pop artists like Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga etc have raw talent but we hate them because of how they use their popularity and the types of music they make. I’m not saying that I like them, In just saying that they have good voices

feel the same way about Beiber. even if I don’t like his music hes super talented. music is art of course though so you don’t necessarily even need to be the most talented to create something special (see earlier in the thread about Bob Dylan’s voice).

they can sing for sure but there are other reasons why we hate them

miley cyrus and justin beiber basically fall into the same class of shitty lyrics that they didn’t write, shitty beats, and both of them being douches in their own life. when you hear about them, they did something wrong or slutty or just assholish.

lady gaga has a weird fucking fashion sense and it’s really annoying. she’s pretty cool outside of that, even her music is pretty creative compared to the shit that’s on the radio

im not sure how someones “weird fashion sense” or having “did something slutty” is a legit reason to be annoyed.

I can sort of understand disliking people who don’t write their own tunes, but thats been going on since popular music was a thing. the ability to write music doesn’t necessarily overlap with the ability to perform. there are tons of historic, great songs that were popularized by performers who didn’t write them.

there’s a difference between weird fashion sense and what lady gaga wears, and yes it annoys people

miley cyrus’ was a disney star and now has her legs open wider than the atlantic ocean. so it can turn people off

*It’s not unpopular to say DBZ> DB it’s just fucking dumb as all hell.
Maximum Carnage wasn’t all that bad. It did spawn a pretty good video game.

-…and speaking of style–>One Piece is atrocious, visually speaking. I’m not sure how people get over how ugly it is to even begin caring about the goofball stupid-looking characters and story. It might actually be the ugliest popular anime I’ve ever seen. It is obscene**

Yea never understood the appeal of anything One Piece related.

The what?

The what?

Firefly had an hour long premier made but for some reason Fox showed episode 2 first and then where surprised when people where confused about why they should care about any of the characters

One Piece for me is:

-Zoro

-Ace

And that fight Luffy had with that jaguar humanoid.

Kenshiro should have waifu’ed Mamiya.

Boston Legal was amazing.

“Say my name.”

“…Denny Crane.”

“That’s right.”

Scarface should’ve been about Sosa. He beat Tony and won. The true king.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
I’ve dismissed a few anime/shows/cartoons based on how horrible it looked visually, until I actually gave them a try out of boredom and now they’re some of my favorite shows I’ve watched. I’m usually very lenient when it comes to graphics/art style, etc anyway. I never let such a trivial detail dictate my impression of things.
Gonna use Ed Edd n Eddy as an example because the art looked so hideous. I gave it a try and now I’ve grown to love it including the art style.

Regarding One Piece, I guess I can see it (still doesn’t turn me off though), but the style after the timeskip definitely got better. It looks more crisp and polished than before.

To be fair, One Piece is a shitty show that drags on forever.

Well now that’s just…true. You can see their influence everywhere these days.

On a completely unrelated note, I did not ever really enjoy Pac or Big. Were they still alive today I would think few people would get behind them being “the greatest” compared to how they do now. As pure lyricists I preferred Big Pun and L.

And as much as people consider it blasphemy and really don’t want to admit it: Rick Ross is the new Notorious BIG. He doesn’t conceptualize like Big did, but a lot is the same.

9 times out of 10 R&B songs with rap artist having a verse or more are terrible. And half of the 10% feature Ludacris.

I seem to be the odd man out on this one-- Back to the Future–for so many from my generation, this was one of the greatest '80s movies… for me it’s just “ok” at best, really…not even something I’ve cared to own on DVD/Blu-ray (or VHS if we’re talking about really going “back in the day”). The last time I saw it was back then, actually.

I forgot if we even covered the show MASH*— it may have already been said; for something so apparently highly revered in the history of television…that show bored me to sleep every time I tried to watch it.

*I seem to be in the minority on the “women with strange voices” issue-- most seem annoyed by Fran Drescher, for example, but her voice is alright with me…and I’d ravage that without the slightest hesitation. Rosie Perez is another one.

2 unpopular opinions
-I’m not a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers outside of the Frusciante era.
-I never found Megan Fox hot.

It’s not hip hop if there isn’t a sample

Scar in The Lion King got a bum rap. Sure, he killed his brother, but it wasn’t his fault the pride lands went to shit.

I think the third part of this post has a correlation to why Million doesn’t enjoy the first two parts of this post.
