I actually prefer the 360 analog stick for fighting games.
i like the story and presentation in the persona games but what kills it for me is the grinding. in persona 2 i hated whenever i got a new persona id have to spend a bunch of time doing stupid shit in battles so i could level (rank?) it up.
im curious, isnt stuff like dashing (orā¦moving around in general) really hard? also in my experience sometimes you get a lot of inputs you didnt āreallyā mean to do.

So I was looking at my old game collection and I came across a certain little title that reminded me of something: Legacy of Kain is(was?)one of the best series I have ever played. Period. The game I found was the original Soul Reaver title for the PS1. Instantly I was remembered of awesome boss fights, great puzzles and one of the greatest stories ever burnt into a disc. Sure, as a series, itās had its up and downs, and Soul Reaver still remains the top game ever put out for the series, but man do I still love these games(I even got some enjoyment out of Blood Omen 2). I find the series criminaly over-looked, and whatever success the series may have had at first has been forgotten.
Sucks too because now Crystal Dynamics has been turned into a Tomb Raider medic and I sadly donāt ever see another title in this grand series. At least the story was mostly finished with Defiance.
I was also always of the opinion that the seriesā lore and world has always lent itself wonderfully to an MMO, and Iād love to see it happen if itās in the right hands.
I actually never played much of the later games, but I loved Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. It was the first in the series, introducing us to the greatness that is Kain. I loved the voice-over work in that gameā¦even when that guy names your items and spells: āPentalich of Tarotā¦Inspire Hateā¦Control Mindā. Kain ends up so godlike powerful itās ridiculousā¦the enemies have to work hard just to have a chance at killing youā¦itās funny. Kain had the Control Mind, teleportationback to home base via Sanctuary spell, the weapons, all kinds of magical abilities. He was far more powerful than the watered down vampires you see in movies.
It was also a great free-roaming style of game, at least to a certain extentā¦you could follow the main storyā¦or you could just wander around killing monsters or innocent people.
Ohhhhh hereās what I would want---- Give me a new āBlood Omenā, with Kain and Raziel and others as playable charactersā¦but rip off the Devil May Cry action/combat style of presentation. Go ahead and add a character creation so you could make your own super-vampire or vampire hunter badass to play the starring role. This would be so damn hot.
Ehhā¦I kind of agree, at least as far as combat goes. It was never the series strong suit and it could do worst then looking at DMC for inspiration, since the combat there is great. I wouldnāt want anything else like DMC, though, especially not the cutscenes. Not that I donāt like them IN DMC, they should just stay there.
As for creating your own characterā¦again Iād rather see this in a online RPG of sorts, using the lore/world of LoK as a backdrop. As it stands, I wouldnāt care much WHAT the new title would beā¦as long they resurrect the series at one point.

Iām sure Iāve posted this before somewhere, but I think itās worth re-iterating: Shin Megami Tensei > Final Fantasy. By a lot. Itās not even close to me anymore. There isnāt a single thing bar the presentation that I prefer in a FF game over a SMT game. I canāt wait for a current gen version of the SMT games though, hopefully SMT4, following up on Nocturne.
