Dude who thinks fighters are mostly a series of rock paper scissors contests hasn’t been playing the right fighting games.
I didn’t mean to say I thought other kinds of games have no strategy. I know fps games do, I used to play some of them. And I know Madden does because it’s just the home version of the real life sport in which players are most like game pieces and the play callers have to deal most with strategy. But I’m not a huge fan of cooperative strategy and I don’t like the fact that Madden etc rolls the dice as to whether your passes and so forth are completed. To me, out of all video games, fighters and rts games have the kind of strategy I think is best.
All of these.
ya actually i was talking about 1v1 fps…
im outi
Roberth
As someone who plays every genre of games (except racing) I can’t say that one is more skill intensive then the other they require different skill sets like you can’t compare rts to fighting games as much as you can fps to sports. I respect top level play equally including co-op strategy like team death in cod4.
BTW if you play starcraft or sins of a solar empire hit me up for some games.
I think there’s a unspoken understanding (for most people here) that there’s a difference between an unpopular opinion and saying re4/ocarina of time/“insert legendary game here” sucks:rofl:
-Back to the topic: Sonic 2 is the greatest game of all time with sonic3 in a distant second.
-Jet set radio future is one of the best games ever.
-They should have made a series out of metal arms:glitch in the system or at least a next gen sequel.
-Chaos legion was fun.
-Ecco the dolphin:tides of time was awesome.
-TMNT wasn’t that bad.
Yeah, I never had Intellivision…but on one of those specials (Icons on G4 and other specials), I saw that Intellivision’s games were killing the VCS/2600. It was almost like comparing a Saturn to a Dreamcast, or a NES to a SNES. The graphics were superior, and the games appeared to be much more complex than the simple stuff going on in your average Atari game. Sadly, I wasn’t even aware of its existence way back then, so I started (late anyway) on Atari 2600 where people looked like blocks or 1-color stick-figures…heh, there was what…maybe 5 colors MAX on screen in your average Atari 2600 game. I regret missing out on Intellivision at the time…it would be hard to go back and play the games now though since we’re so far beyond that era…despite games being good and graphics supposedly not mattering that much. The truth is that while I still love something like Solaris on 2600, I definitely wouldn’t play it over my precious Geometry Wars 2 now.
Sega’s marketing was quality at least during the Genesis area…and DC actually had good advertising for a brief moment in the early part of its life(print ads AND commercials!). Genesis ads were on fire with Genesis DOES! You can’t do this on Nintendo… That was a hell of a game commercial right there. I’d go so far as to say it’s probably the best and most successful “hype-creating” commercial ever for a system. Hype 101…that’s how it’s done. Other companies trying to push a system should’ve paid attention to that.(*hint hint Sony. PSP…come on now. You SHOULD be destroying DS right up the asshole if you at least tried some new commercials/campaigns. There’s a new model of PSP either coming out soon or out now. WHY the hell is there no ad campaign for this?! Average person out there won’t even give a damn if they don’t know. Goddamn who is director of marketing in the U.S. for PSP? Please fire that bastard…he’s obviously just chillin’ in the office surfing the net all day instead of doing shit.)
-Phantom Dust needs a sequel…with a big budget and all kinds of hype. It was far too great to be in the category of “budget games”. I remember it was 20 bucks new…basically a steal. I loved that game so much.
^I co-sign on genesis commercial being the best.

NINTENDON’T! and note the MA-13 rating in the third vid lol.
I agree about PD. I still fire it up every so often to see what I’m made of lol.
It wasnt any fun. At all. Not even scary. Action games arent very scary. Horror games are. Carrier was scarier than that shitty game. Sorry. Good controls dont make up for a bad game.
I havnt played my ps3 since i beat mgs4. The 360 is much more streamlined with live, i realy only use the sony for ps3 exclusive titles…and theres not many.
Another one that just came to mind.
Intelligent Qube is one of the most addictive games ever put out on the market. When I pick it up, I don’t put it down for another 7 hours.
I dont really know the Breakers and Breakers Revenge scene but those games are badass. Am I the only one that realizes they beef the CPU AI up on the 3rd round just to dick you over? The final boss is a prime example of SNK Boss Syndrome too. Worse boss since Sam Show Tenka. Play Breakers today. Pielle = autowin
Wow, it’s as though you don’t like videogames at all. Unless there are adoukets involved.
Dead Rising desperately needs a sequel, but all we’ll get is a shitty, watered-down port for the Wii which nobody who appreciates the original will give the light of day.
PERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFECT
Also Kula World.
The Nintendo Gamecube Controller is THE BEST FIGHTING GAME CONTROLLER EVAR.
When I’m playing Cvs2 on it…I could do everything on that little D-pad, hell even standing 720s and Geese’s Raging Storm.
And also, it doesn’t make your thumbs hurt like hell like all those other controller D-pads.
P.S- I’m NOT playing GC-ism in Cvs2.
What exactly was GC-ism like anyway? And didnt that Gamecube version have a new character? I dont have a gamecube so I never played it
The EX grooves in CvS2 is what he means.
GC-Ism is like, epic EZ mode, for special moves at least.
The shoulder buttons are the punches and kicks, and they are pressure sensitive for the attack strength.
B and Y or X are for roll/dodge, and N/A groove activation.
The C stick is mapped out like a pie chart, if you put the C stick in that direction it will do the special/super move depending on the direction of the C stick.
So that means that you don’t have to charge for charge moves.
All shin megami tensei/persona games are shit
e- all of them
That reminds me…
I feel that analog sticks > D-pads in fighting games. It pisses me off when a game doesn’t let you use the analog stick.
