I’m sorry for being POOR, and that the NeoGeo cost 3x as much as a SNES or Genesis back in the day, or that their games cost 0.75x-2x the price of the SNES or Genesis system.
No one will dispute that 2 was the scariest and most atmospheric re game or even one of the best classic horror games ever. However as awesome as re2 was re4 is more widely considered not just the best re game but one of if not the best game of all time by many so capcom is killing 2 birds with 1 stone with re5. First it’s been confirmed to play similar to re4 which is why everyone is so hyped about re5 in the first place regardless if any footage has been shown or not and second re4 was by far the best selling re so business wise it would be stupid not to model re5 after 4.
I loved re2 and I would love to see a next gen re game combine the classic scariness of re2 with the action packed gameplay of re4 but if I had to choose one I would choose the action oriented gameplay+superior controls in a heartbeat.
Many have been vocal about re4’s lack of surprise horror that the previous entries (re2 most notably of course) had in spades so I doubt capcom has ignored that. Also with so little info released thus far and the game 6 months from launch capcom still has more then enough time to showoff any tidbits indicating the re5 will include the genuine horror element it’s been known for.
My point wasn’t that you couldn’t or shouldn’t play the earlier games, but that you shouldn’t complain if you don’t understand what’s going on.
People follow the hype machine, but then want to complain about some stupid shit.

The Nar Shadaa glitch was caused by doing the events on Nar Shadaa in a different order. I think it happened if you didn’t enter the Refugee Sector before you entered the Cantina. By doing this, a glitch caused an event that was supposed to occur to not happen, thus preventing Nar Shadaa from being completeable. I believe the event was when your ship gets raided by the Red Suns or whatever.
I liked the Outbreak series SO MUCH MORE than RE4. I just love them, in the same way I love RE1, 2 and 3, and maybe even a bit more. The RE Outbreak series is the most faithful reflection of an outbreak. Ordinary people (not people which have more military preparation than Rambo while being under 25) surviving the zombie hordes, that’s what is all about.
I played through pretty much every RE I could and could just never get in the series.
I always kept thinking “this is the one that will get me into the series! I know it!” and each time, I was unimpressed and felt empty inside and in my wallet for wasting money on them.
I just don’t see the appeal.

well capcom doesnt like giving away too much in trailers. I am sure there are bunch of WOOOOOOAHH and OMFG moments in re5. scare factor is there too. I am just hoping there is less ammo/weapons first time around because re4 was little too easy.
- I didn’t like mgs4 that much. sure its a great game but these boss characters are fucking retarded. I wasn’t feeling any of them at all. even ocelot is nowhere near as awesome as mgs2 ocelot. music didnt deliver either…most of the tracks were mediocre at best(mgs1,2,3 shits on mgs4 music). gameplay is overly simple too. not much to do with perfect controls and all these awesome weapons.

That was actually my main fault with the game.
boooooring. turned horror game into an action game. the “Zombies” were now retarded and nothing like the older zombies which i looooooved. member how hard it was in RE 1 to conserve beretta bullets? it was like impossible to tell when a zombie was gonna fall unlike in re3 (maybe 2… i forget its been a while). Member how scared you were playing RE1? Or were you one of those badasses that thought you were the man because you werent scared until you ran through that hallway and the dogs burst through the windows? What happened to that in RE4? Where is shit like that? I miss that. I miss the scary mansion music the played. I miss the lab. I miss the plant. I miss running into the first hunter. I miss the naked zombies. I miss that fear from the evacuating voice as the game was about to end. RE4 has nothing on any previous games, especially RE1.
Scary zombies n music are great n all but I’d rather have superior game play and controls any day.
To say RE4 sucks is just blasphemy. Even if your favorite game in the series is RE2(if you like tank controls), you still can’t make a case for RE4 “sucking” because it didn’t. It may be your least favorite, but it’s far from shit. Atmosphere and everything that comes with standard RE is cool and all, but shitty controls? No thanks. I can do without. It’s one of the reasons why I didn’t like the PSX RE games.
But seriously, RE4 sucks? You’ve gotta be kidding me. Nobody can even make a legit case for it sucking. If you’re older than 15 and still get scared by horror games, then you really need some help. Shit, the PSX RE games didn’t even give me that kind of shock.
My dad doesn’t play any video games besides Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear. He’s played through every game in all of these series and even he (someone with almost zero gaming background) says that Resident Evil 4 is the best game he’s ever played.
I love RE2. Man I remember first playing that game. Got me hooked on the series. Played the other I liked them. Once I played RE4 it renewed that love. Amazing game.
REmake was some scary shit. Scariest atmosphere in the series.

MGS2 ruined Metal Gear story-wise. The best stories in the MGS series have little-to-nothing to do with the Patriots or Vamp.
