Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

did you do the same with metal gear solid???

im outi

Roberth

Almost, except it was a generation older, when I was more forgiving.

i played sc1, i loved the hell out of that game. i enjoyed sc2 as well, but i restate my point, after that, the game got salty. its been dumbed down and is really not fun to me anymore.

the only reason why I am warranted in making that opinion is that I AM a COMPETITIVE SMASHER. Im one of the top players in LouisianA for sure, and I am only going off of what I have seen in tournament (item less) play, and by progression of the game. dont be offended, its just that brawl was created with the casual audience in mind. I will agree its not a broken game, but it is like a 3s junior. mk and snake are a joke at top level play, as are 4-6 other chars. but it ends there. I once stood by the notions you defend the game with, but i have recently crossed over to casual elitism:sad:. and lol, those are the reasons why i dont play marvel and 3s hardcore.

a sega comeback would be upset of the century :woot:

and call me old fashioned, but snes and n64 mario kart > any of the other ones

The only thing I hated about KotOR 2 was the Nar Shadaa glitch and having to crawl through Peragus allllllllll over again.

I believe the only reason people even think of ranking the first one as better is due to the cut content. Pound for pound, KotOR II beats out the first. The only thing that was extremely good about the first was the storyline. KotOR II has a story that at least competes with the first, the influence system, visual affirmations of strong Dark or Light side affiliation, the feature to convert allies to Jedi/Sith, and perhaps the greatest asset of this game:

Kreia.

As far as the console games go, yes. Double Dash was complete trash.

MK DS was the greatest mario kart ever.
Mario Kart wii doesn’t deserve all the negativity it gets either.

Fuck you guys, Shenmue was awesome. I probably wouldn’t have never bought the game if it wasn’t for Chibi though.

yeah, I couldn’t get into the later Mario Karts…but I would still play SNES Super Mario Kart today. The latest one might catch my attention though since it “kinda” has character creation with the apparent inclusion of Mii characters.

*Luigi’s Mansion wasn’t that bad. Sure it wasn’t on the same level of “legend status” as a Super Mario Bros. 3 or even World, but LM was at least “ok” and worth playing, imo.

*I thought it was a shame that “One” and especially “Apocalypse”(action game starring Bruce Willis!) were forgotten so quickly. I’d love to see a modern version of Apocalypse. That game would be incredible with today’s graphics.

But if you don’t play card games, you’ll never be happy!

Shenmue is possibly the greatest game i ever played, i also enjoyed shenmue 2 alot.
I can’t understand all this shenmue hate.

apocalypse sounded awesome until they made bruce willis the main character instead of the sidekick

Of course brawl was created for casual gamers it’s a nintendo game lol but to say it’s a 3s junior in regards to characters is false. Yun/chun and to a much lesser degree ken dominate top level play while in ssbb not even snake overpowers the cast that much even by your own admission there are at least 8 toptiers. The gap between top, high, middle, low, n bottom overall is a lot closer then most fighting games and it doesn’t end at the 8tops a large part of the cast are easily viable at the top level of play. BTW it’s cool if you to think it’s less competitive without items I’m just saying with or without them are equally competitive no better or worse imo.

Graphics wise shenmue was the crysis of 2000. It was the first 3d game that did a great job immersing the player into it’s universe and mimicking countless real world interactions so at the time the game was a success. However the main appeal of the game was dependent on it’s own technical achievement which by todays standards is laughable and probably why so many people hate it now except in million’s case where he hated it from the start because it’s a realistic game lol.

I haven’t played shenmue 1/2 since I beat them but If I played them now I’m sure I would find at least a little bit of fun in it outside of nostalgic value but the fact that both games stand on the legs of it’s obsolete tech would ruin most of the fun for me.

The last truly original/must absolutely own handheld gaming system was the Gameboy Color.

Well put.

They should have stopped making Megaman games after X4. Everything about it was amazing and it ended on a perfect note.

X5 was fucking garbage.
X6 was shit but still fun due to how you went about 100%ing it (saving all the distressed hunters)
X7 should have never been made.
Command Missions was just…ugh.
X8 was playable, but rental status. (which is more than X5 should have been)

The Megaman Legends games were better than most of the Megaman games for the fact there was an actual story and depth to them besides “omg for some reason wily is back…and he only made 8 fucking robots who’re all weak against eachother…???” what?

Not gaming related but:
The Boondocks Comic Strip is better than the show.
And Daft Punk sucks. BRING THE FUCKING HATE

The game really was pretty back then, but that’s it. There is, and will never be, anything fun about the (in)famous sailor chasing, or the box/book moving, etc. Those aren’t fun things, I went from “quest” to “quest” eventually forgetting what the fuck the main plot of the game even was. Then when I finally got pulled back into it and realized the story was as bland as everything else, dropped and never touched again. Why bother going through all that shit for some mediocre story telling, narrated by god awful VAs and with some horrible design decisions thrown on top?

Fighting was standard beat em up with some then unheard of QTE thrown in. The Cinematics were pretty cool, but nothing to make me forget about how damn boring the rest of the game was. There really wasn’t much to Shenmue other than it having(at the time)a realistic/open world and pretty graphics. What I think anyway.

Wow

Yakuza > GTA

Okay I gotta rep u for that one. BTW I am playing Yakuza 2 right now. It came out last week. Damn this 24 wait for repping again.

The biggest flaw with Shenmue one was the repetitive system of conversing with characters to advance the story. They cut down on that significantly in part 2 while enhancing the quality of the environments and amount of things you can explore. Ryo should have been given the ability to fornicate or at least some kind of option to develop relationships. That’s another qualm I have with it, however. But overall it is still one of my favorite games. Of course it’s hardly enjoyable considering how dated it is now.

Oh and Ninja Gaiden arcade is still the best Ninja Gaiden game.

Jackie Chan’s Stunt Master is one of the best beat em ups every created!!! runs and hides.

Real talk though. I wish I never sold that game. When I got it on the psx I played it for atleast 4 hours everyday. That whole game was epic. The graphics weren’t great but man did the gameplay make up for it. I used to love countering kick attacks, grabbing the enemies leg, then throwing them into a pile of boxes watching them break. The stunts you could do in the game were amazing too. I think my favorite part of the game is when you’re at the shaolin temple and Jackie Chan switches over to Drunken Fist. Greatness.
